QuoteThommie The best solo-album of any Stones-member! it really is a good one..but the best of any solo Stones albums.. hmm might give that to Ronnie's first one, he really knocked it out of the park on that one, "I've Got My Own Album To Do".. with a little help from his friends. any just my opinion

QuoteSirCorto Is there any video where (Mick?) in the sixties says that they don't know for how long the will be playing? Barely remember something but couldn't find it i dont have the video, but a Rolling Stone interviewer got Jagger talking about the Stones and whether or not they were breaking up, at the time the Beatles had just broken up.. and Jagger said ( paraphrasing here)

QuoteGasLightStreet Not sure if this is relevant but, aside from their recording rise with The Big 4 one of the most important aspects of their career started with forming their own record label with distribution from Atlantic and, in one sense, achieving a status to where they could release their own greatest hits compilation MADE IN THE SHADE released at the beginning of a 2 year world tour tha

we've sure seen a lot of effort by Ronnie Wood to sell stuff.. nothing wrong with it.. seems like he is really eager to do books, 'pop up' events, and that really questionable big print.. restless and kind of slap-dash, a lot of it.. but he knows having his name promoted is important to keep relevant in the marketplace..i guess..

The Ray Charles segment was poignant and an insight into what he values, imagine not thinking yourself worthy to play alongside a legend whose just asked you

QuoteBliss ^^^ He'd have done well to pay off Spanish Tony too. But then we would have missed what is probably the most accurate, atmospheric, and exciting 1st-hand account of the Stones at their peak. i think the closest we have to that is Stanley Booth's book. agreed, if Anita had written one, wow..

I never doubted he knew what the history is of the Guernica. That he used it in such a calculated way is what bothers me. makes it worse. Makes me wonder if Wood is in need of money. I know he wants to keep himself artistically active in his time away from the band. .. this move of Ronnie’s is beyond bad taste. It’s damaging to the Stones too. He’s brought them into it.

I think if Picasso was around he’d go after Ronnie for this Guernica comedy. I mean both legally and kick his ass.

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 QuoteMisterDDDD QuoteHairball "I hope and think he'd (Picasso) be flattered, but also a bit shocked and pleasantly surprised at my take on his work.” - Ronnie No you got it wrong - Picsasso did not superimpose musicians on a masterpiece painting that had such deep subject matter. He made an original painting with a message of the atrocities of war. Y

doing this print, Ronnie seems to be saying human tragedy, violence, unbelievable pain and suffering, is OK to profit from. And his weird print, a bad joke compared to the work its very loosely based on, is selling. So he’s using the Stones name and logo to crudely ape one of the strongest pieces of art ever made. Guess that’s OK..

i like several of Ronnie's pieces showing the band at work, that he's done over the years.. why appropriate the Guernica, of all paintings, for your weird and silly big-ass print? its not out of a love for Picasso, but something else.. contrived marketing i think..

Quoterbk New artwork from Ronnie Wood would make a helluva cover for a new Rolling Stones album. (Hint. Hint). They'd catch holy hell from the rage harpies for trivializing Picasso's "Guernica" but after a fifty-six year career rooted in misogyny, cultural appropriation and trashing the political correctness of any given era, I'm guessing they could pull it off. I w

QuoteLazarusSmith Quotegeorgie48 Oh noooo. He would have clashed with the band instantly. The Beatles were "pressed" by the sixties cult development into a situation where they had to come up with something new all the time and strong minded George Martin fitted in there very well. The Beatles by then were sweet boys. The Stones could never have been able to have someone like Martin t

Surprised that Stephen Graham's performance has been widely overlooked in the comments I've read so far. He's one of the best modern actors around and he's excellent again in this. His scenes with Pacino were hilarious. loved him as Al
