Quotedoitywoik Quotewonderboy Scorcese, DeNiro, Pacino -- these are all men in their 70s, still making a gangster film. A good one, I'm sure, but I'm getting to the point where I want to see what younger men can create and see other viewpoints and experiences up there on the screen. Just as the Stones and other bands have unwittingly crowded out younger rock bands, I feel some of these

Hard to say, about genius. really successful and really lucky too. they figured tour marketing out, certainly. long history so give them so much respect for knowing themselves and respecting each other. Great songs, charismatic personalities.

QuoteElmo Lewis Just saw him with Mike Mills from REM and classical musician Robert McDuffie in Savannah on a short tour playing the music of Georgia. They were joined by a full rock band and a 15 piece string section from Mercer university (my alma mater). Songs included "One Way Out", "Midnight Train To Georgia", "Rainy Night In Georgia", "Georgia On My Min

i love the emphasis he expresses for live performance. Getting something happening on stage, with the audience, with the band, not playing strict note for note versions of album versions of songs. Stones music is basically folk music with a funky rhythm section and some loud amps. I love it.

thought many times about this.. why this band has held the interest it has for me and millions, over so many years.. first of all was for me, an innate liking for blues-inspired, driving music. one of the first songs I got really interested in as a 9 year old was "The Last Time". some songs from other band could have a similar effect, but not many in 1965, and the Stones just kep

QuoteRocky Dijon Quotemicawber I listened to all snippets available on amazon. Sorry, but this is nothing just near the Stones. Weird amateur garage band sound with really bad songwriting, Waste of time, not worth listening. It's certainly true that anyone who has the stamina to complete a creative work and bring it to public attention must have the courage to withstand harsh criticis

in episode 2, Ray Benson, from Asleep at the Wheel, was talking about Bob Wills. Benson described Wills as being a charismatic, animated performer, a lot like the Mick Jagger of the time..

wow. Episode 2 is full of interesting history. Delmore Brothers, Gene Autry, Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl, and that wacko Dr. Brinkley.. not to mention the sad Carter family history..

when Mick Jagger comments on the US government position on climate change, I take notice because he is very astute about history, the truth is though, his opinion is like everyone else’s, and nothing will change. We in the USA, sadly, know we have a dangerous person at the helm of government. It’s just like Keith said, “everybody knows what’s what”, and he didn’t want to keep talking about it..

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 I think that's a great idea of Ronnie, and well drawn. But come on...a bound book? Did Charlie ever publish his hotel-room beds? that would be interesting, what little I’ve seen of that, I’d kinda like to see a collection!

Quotecrawdaddy Charlie is the ultimate 'right place at the right time', when it could have easily been Mick Avory or one of a few other good drummers around in the early 60's. Charlie got the thumbs up, and so glad that he did after being as huge a part of The Rolling Stones as Brian, Mick ,Keith ,Ronnie,Bill and Mick Taylor have been . The Stones without Charlie after all this
