You're right about Little Beaver playing on Clean Up Woman... Great Miami funk... I also heard he was considered to replace Mick Taylor... Have never heard any recording of him with the Stones though... Mick J. was probably referring to this song onstage...

this would be fantastic... keith could release the toronto tapes, round up some up solo things from over the years, and even re-record some of the rougher sounding stuff acoustically or with some overdubs... it's already dribbling out with the george jones sesssions, the new release of sing me back home with marianne and various others... why not put it all together? people would love it!!

i heard a radio with chrissie hynde this weekend where she confessed that she stole the song "middle of the road" lick for lick from the stones song "empty heart", which was on 12X5... She also said it was OK because "the stones are the biggest plagiarists in the world"... any thoughts?

another influence probably was steve cropper and otis redding. the arrangement is very much in their style and the stones were covering a lot of otis stuff at that time. Take a listen to I've been loving you too long, and compare it to the stones version of love in vain...

Yes!!! Put him on stage with Ronnie and Keith. Let's hear some old blues like Little Red Rooster... It would revitalize the hell out of the show...Who wants to hear the same old boring stuff from two drunks who can't play any more? At least Clapton is sober. Maybe they could a whole set of Robert Johnson songs...

The worst of all has to be john lee hooker on the atlantic city show in 1989. He may be a legend but he was totally drunk and a complete embarrassment. He had no idea what he was singing or playing, despite the backing of keith, ron and eric clapton. Mick Jagger simply walked off the stage.... Hooker should have quit a long time ago...
