George has admitted that he does not have the greatest repertoire of licks, basically Chuck berry, Bo Diddley and slide shufle. See you tube for his honest discussion of this. But he is a hell of a performer, and who else could cover one bourbon, one scotch like he did... Or play just like Robert Johnson on his last album (Dynaflow Blues)... I met George Thorogood in the keystone palo alto nightclub back in 1981. I went up to chat and he was very friendly and down to earth. I had just seen him open for the stones at candlestick park in SF. His first albums were great and he was a great showman... I saw him play recently in LA with Buddy Guy and was kind of disappointed. He has been very showbizzy and not as real on stage. He di

In his recent book "Chronicles", Bob Dylan writes of his love for Johnson's music which he first heard in the early 60s, On p, 286-287, Dylan writes this: "More than 30 years later, I would see Johnson for myself in eight seconds worth of 8 millimeter film shot in Ruleville, Mississippi, on a brightly lit afternoon by some Germans in the late 30s. Some people questioned w

does anyone know anything about the album Dirty Strangers, "Diamonds", featuring Keith and Ronnie on several songs... apparently the Strangers were a popular London pub rock band who met Keith thru his bodyguard... this was recorded around 1986 while Mick was doing his solo thing... It's a good album if you like pub rock stuff... half studio and half live...

They should at least have a letter of provenance from Johnson's brother, or from Robert Jr. Lockwood... Or better yet, another picture of RJ playing the guitar.. Do you know if the Kalamazoo guitar is different from the L-1 they are selling... Most accounts say he played a Stella guitar... Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top is said to have a guitar made from the wood from Johnson's old house...
