I'm also a longtime fan and like the new CD too. Also of note, they are the studio backing band for Ray Davies last two Americana CDs which are also quite good. HBK

QuoteSomeGuy The issue reminds me of a little known band who lost their drummer in 1980, not twelve years into their highly succesful -even by Stones standards- career, bandmembers in their early to mid 30s, and they called it quits immediately and even canceled their then imminent American tour. I sure hope that Mick and Keith, in their mid 70s, will be as sensible in case Charlie were to retire

I attended 14 US shows 2005-6 starting with Fenway Boston and ending with Atlantic City. Favorite was Baltimore, probably because I was in first row thanks to fan club pre-sale. BTW - Why is this thread OT? HBK

It's been a great run. I attended shows in Brooklyn, Newark, Philadelphia x2, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Las Vegas and Paris. Most exciting was Brooklyn - the first for me since 2006 Best arena show was Philly 2013 2nd show with Under the Boardwalk and an incendiary CYHMK with Mick Taylor. Best Stadium show and maybe best of all was Kansas City with the song Kansas City, e

I've attended 97 shows since my first at MSG in 1972. Most recent was Paris 3. Keep touring boys. I would love to celebrate my 100th show. HBK

Amazon-US just notified me that I will not get my CD/DVD until the 17th, after promising delivery on the 13th. Boo! I was looking forward to having the weekend to enjoy. I went to six shows on the No Security tour. HBK

Happy just to have the sound and I know she is compromising her own experience to give us this feed.

Yeah, I made the comment after attending the Paris 3 show that BS and MY had become sort of swampy/funky with the Karl Denson sax riffing providing a new dimension. I still miss Bobby but no complaints about his replacement. HBK

I've seen them all going back to 1972, including No Filter in Paris, and also liked VL the best of the stadium shows. No Security gets my vote for arenas. BUT the video screens are so much better nowadays, such that the No Filter set up and overall impression creates a magnificent concert experience where it's all about the band and music - no gimmicks. And, of course, the audio blast

And, of course, Some Girls came out 40 years ago this month and Miss You (ugh, disco) was already moving up the pop charts. Both albums were the soundtrack of Summer '78. I was 24, living on US East Coast, and also starting to dig the Ramones and what followed in the punk New Wave front. I grew up in great time to be rock fan. Saw Stones, Bruce and the Who that Summer. HBK

A bit of a worn out subject and of course it's absurd to open with a song never ever played live before. Ain't gonna happen. Half the fun is the roar of the audience when they recognize the tune. But it is nice to be surprised. So considering what is really possible, how about HTW as in 75-76. Nice groove and great sing along chorus. My "fantasy" opener would still ne

I have reached the conclusion that the video screens have reached such a high level, that they are the gimmick. The overall look of the No Filter stage set up is pure simplicity. Clean and basic with the eye-popping displays nicely coordinated with the song and the lights. In the past (SW, VL, BTN) the screens were small and lame so the stage needed more bells and whistles. As the video siz

I was a huge fan of both and still am. HBK

Phish did a pretty good job covering all of Exile at their Halloween show in 2009. It was available for download from their website at the time. . . the only Phish I ever cared to purchase. By contrast I have a lot of Ryan Adams records and like most of his stuff. I think he will have a better instinctual feel for Exile. I was at one of the shows he opened at MSG for the Stones and was fairly

Very much looking forward to this release. Saw six shows on this tour. I also give a big thumbs up to Imagination in DC. It rivals the Hampton 81 version. I have Charlie's drumstick from Philly 2 Midnight Rambler. My brother actually caught it and awarded it to me. Now framed in my home office. HBK

They played Mixed Emotions and Sad Sad Sad at Toad's Place in 1989 before Steel Wheels was released or being played on the radio. Thought ME sounded like Take it So Hard. I got into that show by claiming to be Tommy Mottola, head of Columbia Records at the time. Long story here, as long as we are sharing our Stones adventures.
