A bit strange that they only opened with Satisfaction in Knebworth '76 and in 97-98.

Hold On To Your Hat - Must be the most underrated song opener and would be a Classic to open Edinburgh - Guys put this one in the repertoire. I hear this could be a possibility. Give it a whirl
Yeah great song!! And 95 percent of the people there would say."I never heard this song before" and sit down.

Almost nobody sits down for the opening song .... regardless if they know it or not.
If they do,it says a lot about the audience.
Anyway,"Gimme Shelter" could have worked as an opener in 1973 if they would have mixed it up a few times but,not now in its current arrangement with background singers.
The same goes for "All Down the Line" etc.
They should rotate "Street Fighting Man" , "Satisfaction" , "IORR" and "Brown Sugar" as openers at this point. Maybe "Honkey Tonk Women" if they play clubs and theatres again.
Enough is enough with "Jumping Jack Flash" since 1999 and "Start Me Up" since 2005.
yea--stick to the same old boring stuff...great ideaQuote
