YGMR was the opener a few times in 1998..

The only drawback with YGMR is that it isn't well known to most of the audience. Otherwise it's a good opener and I'd like to see them try it again.

Honky Tonk Women, Satisfaction and Brown Sugar. A bit strange that they only opened with Satisfaction in Knebworth '76 and in 97-98. Could be Worth tryin' again. Brown Sugar is the killer opener, loved it back in 2002-03 and once or twice in 2005. As long as Keith got his index on the 12th when he steps out on stage everything should be alrite….

If they do,it says a lot about the audience.

Anyway,"Gimme Shelter" could have worked as an opener in 1973 if they would have mixed it up a few times but,not now in its current arrangement with background singers.

The same goes for "All Down the Line" etc.

They should rotate "Street Fighting Man" , "Satisfaction" , "IORR" and "Brown Sugar" as openers at this point. Maybe "Honkey Tonk Women" if they play clubs and theatres again.

Enough is enough with "Jumping Jack Flash" since 1999 and "Start Me Up" since 2005.

A bit of a worn out subject and of course it's absurd to open with a song never ever played live before. Ain't gonna happen. Half the fun is the roar of the audience when they recognize the tune. But it is nice to be surprised.

So considering what is really possible, how about HTW as in 75-76. Nice groove and great sing along chorus.

My "fantasy" opener would still need to be a crowd pleaser and not an obscure gem. How about Star Star?

I'm looking forward to standard songs like JJF or SFM for an opener. I like SMU from the '89/'90-Tour. But thru the years I don't like the song anymore, ironically.

I want to hear songs like Like a rolling stone, she's a rainbow, 2000 light years from home (it work so well with sympathy for the devil) and of course salt of the earth.
