I wish they would play a soundboard recording of 'Roll over Beethoven' recorded during the Tour of Europe 1970. I dobelieve taht some recording might exist.

QuoteSighunt QuoteNICOS QuoteSighunt QuoteNICOS This is the hardest question for me in the last 25 years you have absolutely no idea the weeks that I have had in trying to resolve and find a "simple" answer to that question. To put it mildly, it has been a head splitter... PS- I spent half of my day today speaking to a representative at Getty Images in an effort to procure a pho

His instagram/twitter tweets show him wandering around the streets of the cities, having beers, tourist sites etc... Covid was bound to happen. Maybe he should have kept in his indoor bubble more. Quotegotdablouse QuoteGreen Lady Thanks, wow the beginning of Rocks Off was rough and it's still a mess...wrong tuning on the guitar ? Sounds like a 1981 show ! You rather mean 1982 because on 10 and 11 June 1982 the Stones played Munich Olympiastadion...

Yesterday's issue of German prominent weekly newspaper has an interview with Mick Jagger about his new song, Charlie Watts, and the upcomin tour. Nothing spectacular, IMO, but worth reading if you speak or understand German.

I never understood why the played Lady Jane only once in 2012. It was a beautiful rendition, and it would be a highlight of the show. Same goes for Heart of stone (which has been played more often). Songs like Citadel oder 2120 South Michigan avenue would not work! But do they play such slow ballads in a stadium?

QuoteMKjan Had Brian and Stu not formed the Rolling Stones, it's doubtful that Brian would have the success he had with the Stones. It's more likely Mick and Keith would have done better. Look at how the Stones have done without Brian. And then there is the songwriting...... Mick and Keith would have been fine. Fact is, nobody can say that. In music industry as in all other creative a

Quotedrewmaster Quotebye bye johnny The new finding comes two years after another previously unheard Rolling Stones song was uncovered. That song, "No One Loves You More Than Me," is believed to have been recorded in 1964 and was found in 2016. The tape of that song was reportedly sold at auction. Drew Sorry, to my ears this is no Rolling Stones song, and it is definitely not Mi

The first part of the 1975 Tour was surprisingly good, as I was convinced by an earlier post on IORR. But during the later part Jagger's singing was a catastrophy, it was more sort of 'barking' than singing. The 1976 Tour was more consistent, and they were still a legend. However, the concert at Kiel must have been a complete trainwreck where many people left early, ond on one o

The question is still open from when the Rolling Stones themselves had their shows recorded professionally in soundboard quality.

If I ask politely why Mick Taylor was not present why shouldn't I be entitled to do so? At least he was on a world tour with the Rolling Stones including Charlie Watts only some years ago. I never participated in the Taylor - Wood discussion because I find it dull and boring, and I think that both guitarists stood/stand for their Rolling Stones era. But I always took great interest in Mick T

He opened for the Rolling Stones along with the Meters and Little Feat at Stuttgart, Neckarstadion, June 19. 1976, the first Stones concert in a stadium in Europe at all. Of all those three groups I liked him best. But he had just released 'Music' back then, and he filled in for Robin Trower who for some reason or another could not appear. It was sensational to hear the massive hit live

Quotemisterfrias It’s all about the money. Roger Waters would have done it too. This would be particularly ironic because Clinton Heylin writes in his book about the history of bootlegs that bootleggers released a record from an Pink Floyd concert at the beginning of a tour within one week, and all four members of the group (including Waters) bought a copy.

Yesterday it was in the news that Eric Clapton sues a woman from Germany for up to 250.000 Euros for the breach of his copyrights and his publishing rights. What happened was that her late husband bought a live CD with an unlicensed live recording (from the series LIVE IN USA) which was offered officially in German Stores for about 10 Euros. I also bought that CD back then, and although it was ob

No offence here but judging from the youtube videos I think that Paul McCartney's voice menawhile is shot to pieces and painful to listen to. It's a problem of aging so he can do nothing about it. He is a great musician, and there are recordings from the past which are truly great! I do not take both statements seriously because I never participated in the Beatles - Stones contest. B

From all we know there can be no doubt that Brian Jones was the driving force behind the Rolling Stones in the early days. And then there was the marketing strategy by Andrew Loog Oldham. If you state that it was all Mick and Keith's merits that is seen from hindsight. And I do think that there were many accidental events in the band's carreer which made their success lasting. There
