I am right there with you on Revolver and Rubber Soul. Two of their best ever LPs, especially the UK version of Revolver. jb

I would at least want it to be a Mariah Carey clone doing the doped up yammering in the corner. How are those clone's most valuable assets (all both of them) doing, anyway? jb

Hit the nail on the head there Rocky, if they listened to their "fans" back in 1964 there might not have been any music past that point. Screw "fans"...let the creative be creative and if you like it, buy it, otherwise, leave it. jb

I don't think he should waste his time...plus that "naked" release already covered this ground. Worst LP Beatles ever put out, and I don't think even G Martin could have saved it, or should have wasted his time. jb

Two things about that magazine cover: "Faces, Stones, PCP..." Really? Ronny has been dusting all these years? Well that does explain some things I guess. Like at the Alamo. And people still know or care about that Liam Gallagher dude? I hadn't heard of him in a decade. Last I heard I thought he told everyone to fack off and left for places unknown. Guess I have been out of

>that one pic is not Peter Tosh I was going to opine that as well, but then I noticed the scar on his right cheek so I was not sure. Looks more like Ibo Cooper to me though. Possibly a young Cocoa Tea. Face too wide for Tosh, although not having his ever-present shades on was throwing me. jb

Black Widow was Monogram. Monogram is now part of the Revell AG family but back in the day it was a competing company. AMT was the dominant company, mostly due to their making the promo models for the big 3 auto manufacturers, but Revell had the most interesting, delicate, fiddly models. Off topic but here is something I built years ago. Rockman, you and me got a lot in common beginn

Does anyone else think Stones should rehire Bill for bass duties? I think its the weakest link of the current band. Bill made a great rhythm section paired with Charlie Watts. The band has just not sounded the same since he quit. jb

Its release is imminent, but knowing Revell, that doesn't mean much. But I think January 2020 is the target date. I have had a search active on ebay since I first heard about it earlier this year. Sorry for not seeing that prior thread, obviously got to get up pretty early in the morning to get something over around here! PS: I build models on a contest level, but not airplanes, cars.

Why do you say that, about Barger? Sure he had ulterior motives but he was right in a lot of ways with a lot of things he was quoted as saying. I recall him saying he was not there, though, although he obviously was in the film. I think it was a legal move on his part...the quotations you question may have been couched in the same concerns. Waiting did make the crowd restless but it is pretty

For me the early Stones went through three distinct periods: first, blues band, next, pop band, and third, rock band. Have You Seen Your Mother Baby, again to me, was the peak of their time as a pop music band. I love that freakin song and have from the time I first heard it on AM radio. Its dark but you cannot really tell what Mick is alluding to, you just know its not good. Is her mother gettin

Note that the music you will hear is NOT this D-Roy 12" single, it is overdubbed with post production effects. Here is the track as it usually appears but without Keiths credit on the label, jb

Joel Selvin's "theory" sounds kinda cockeyed...if the concert had taken place on the GG Bridge, no one would have been able to get into SF. I guess he/you mean Golden Gate Park, the original venue before Mick opened his mouth and Mayor Alioto put the nix on that deal, unannounced headliner or not. The supposed "deal" with the Angels was done before it was decided where

yeah I forgot about the online version and got the titles swapped around. Funny about that Sister Morphine label, I had the exact same impression, although I didn't think anyone at the publication was actually involved with the label, I suspected some payola might be involved. I miss the magazine myself, although I figured they just ran out of things to say after a while. It was a fai

I think Skippy was a main writer or maybe editor while John Carr was more like the publisher, and frequent contributor. I could be confused about that but that's how I recall it. Yeah Undercover may have been the other thing I was thinking of. Had to buy Voodoo Brew and a bunch others just because of what I read about them one of those places. I think there was also something called r
