Probably my favorite post-Tattoo album. Songs are really good and the band sounds peak. Interesting, cohesive vibe.

Took guitar lessons as a kid from T-Bone Burnett (our neighbor in Ft. Worth), who has worked with Keith on a couple of things, I believe.

QuoteBig Al QuoteSend It To me If I paid $600 to see the Stones and they played 45 minutes, I wouldn't be happy, NGL Likewise; nor would I be happy forking-out any amount for a concert that clocks-in at only 30 minutes. Well, maybe if the setlist was consisted of Highwire, Star Star, Coming Down Again, Let It Loose, One Hit to the Body, Hand of Fate, Mother's Little Helper, and Hang

I discovered the Stones via my dad's Hot Rocks cassette, so that will always be the most important one to me. This was 1989, 8th grade. Next I bought Steel Wheels and then I bought Rewind.

People thinking the band was better with Bill probably has more to do with how the rest of the band was playing at that time than Bill in particular.

Do I need to hear Disc 2 of Hot Rocks + Satifaction, Tumbling Dice, Start Me Up, Miss You, and Paint It Black performed live once again? Not really. But seeing these guys go on and one has really been an important thing in my life, for whatever reason. Hope to see them again. But they've already taken this thing to the max. Rock on.

It's possible the band didn't back out, but the promotors did. Soft market, etc.

The best show I attended was Chicago 2, Soldier Field 1997. Factors: - Excitement of tour start, band high energy and into it - 24 song setlist touching on all eras, many albums - Best stage/production they ever had - Great crowd, environment (remember the skyline in the background) - My college buddy at University of Missouri (was start of my senior year) and I drove 8 hours there and 8 h

I didn't mean "last show ever" but maybe a stop to touring in favor of one-offs, etc. As I said, I doubt, but seems some of us are thinking that.

Multiple nights rumors raise the question if there will be some sort of Last Time announcement. I doubt it, since Stones have never ever gone there, but....

QuoteDan Could it be they have 2 hold dates in Vienna with the intention of only using one when the routing is finalized? 2 shows in Vienna makes about as much sense as 2 shows in Kansas City. Or two shows in Regina! Ha.

QuoteRisingStone “songs that were played regularly on only tour then dropped” hence a one-off rarity, e.g. She Smiled Sweetly, should be excluded by definition. If you allow me to pick one that was played on a semi-regular basis (a dozen times or so during the initial phase of the tour), it goes to One Hit (To The Body) from the Steel Wheels U.S. tour 1989. Quite exited to hear the song live a

First North American tour leg I missed since my first show in 1994. Work and family commitments prevented travel and I couldn't bring myself to brave the traffic and lodging nightmare driving down to Ridgedale, ha. (Maybe doesn't quite feel the way it used to with Greatest Hits 19 song setlists, generic stage, crazy prices, etc.) Still had fun following the tour on IORR/YouTube. Hope I

QuoteGasLightStreet The original Rolling Stones played Mississippi. Kinda strange that The Rolling Stones from the UK have never played in Jackson (the only place that could possibly work is the fairgrounds and it's nothing like New Orleans) or Biloxi, MS at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, which holds 15,000, would make sense, at least in the past, although given how MS is these days

Unusual set in that Mick did not sing anything from either Sticky Fingers or Some Girls. Can't imagine that's happened all that often.
