I'm disappointed that he's chosen mainstream over-familiar classic rock songs to cover. He is (was? could be?) one of the best white soul singers ever. I'd like to see him get in touch with his inner Sam Cooke and record the great soul covers record he's capable of. What I'd really like to hear is an album of new material w/ the vibe of James Hunter.

I've gotta throw in a vote here for"Talkin' 'Bout You". They don't cover it-they own it. The final chord of Keith's solo is a great guitar moment.

There've been contenders; there've been pretenders; but there's only one King of rock & roll: Elvis. No contest.

There was some buzz around when The Stones were recording ABB that they had recorded a cover of Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit". Any truth to this? Also, has anyone heard the cover of "For Your Precious Love", reportedly from the Steel Wheels sessions?

He's a much better singer now because he's not gakked to the gills, racing around like he's in a track meet. I mean he still moves and puts on a fantastic show, but not enough to affect his vocals, as he used to. Also, the advances in sound reinforcement technology over the last few tours have definitely improved the quality of his vocals.

I've had mine for about 5 yrs. and it's a great little amp- light weight, loud enough for home, band practice or small gigs. Good reverb and tons of real tube tone and it works every damn time I flip the switch.

The Nov. 2005 issue of LD (Lighting Dimensions) has a lengthy article about all the technical hoo-haw (mainly lighting and the set). I'm sure one or more of the pro audio mags covered the sound elements.

I've really enjoyed these posts on Brian and Keith's guitars. I read that Andy Babuik, who wrote "The Beatles Gear", is currently working on a book about the Stones' instruments. It should be interesting.
