Having his "Let it Bleed" book I found even though he was writing about a classic album he seemed to not actually really rate quite afew of the tracks. His "Rough Guide" is extremely critical of the post 'Some Girls' period; whatever your thoughts on the merits of 'Steel Wheels' for example, I don't think it's a "turkey" as Egan prof

25 years since the much-maligned 'Dirty Work' opus of 1986, we probably don't need a 25th Anniv. Reissue though, even though there are a host of outtakes from those sessions. Always a least-favourite Stones album among fans, I revisited it over the last few days and actually enjoyed it (some of it). Nowhere at all near the high standards the Stones themselves had set of course,

Greetings, They all stream okay, I hoped to download and keep them though! There's another segments on the NBC website apparently, interview with all four stones from the ABB tour, running time 36 minutes. Never even seen this before as I can't even get it to stream!

Thanks for that Skipstone - but - you can't download from the JimmyFallon website and even though they're all on hulu and other video sites, if you're outside the USA you can't download them either^

I saw that one on YouTube - but it's the excellent quality one I seek, that seems to be not yet on YouTube or any video site I can access from Europe^ Also the 'Pros and Cons' segment, not on the 'Tube yet^

Greetings! Just wondering if anyone is able to upload these great clips from May onto YouTube? I see them on the NBC website but mostly the content (on sites like hula) don't allow the clips for viewers outside the U.S. (tried to download but no dice^)

'Let Me Go' is indeed a jaunty number, and would have made a great 3rd single after 'Emotional Rescue' and the imo excellent 'She's So Cold'. It took me a long time to warm to the 'Rescue' album, I liked it in '94 with the Virgin Resissues (first time I heard it, became a fan in '94), then it lost it's aura with each subsequent purch

I'm sure this is bollox, but here's the latest rumour from the Cowell sh*t factory: Don't do it Mick, you don't need that kind of cheesy exposure...

I always loved (most of..)..the album, and 5 years later still listen to it and whilst it's obviously not in the same league as the Stones' meisterwerk's, it is a damn good, at times brillinat, piece of work. It;s too long methinks, and simply reading some of the thoughts above gives a hint of just how chalk/cheese some tracks are to different people^ I absolutely love '

Fantastic song methinks, wonderful stuff Along with the equally magical 'Slipping Away', it seems Steel Wheels opus has two of the Stones' finest ballads. I do feel SW is underrated hugely, as with the pair of brilliant ballads, adding them to the imo great 'Terrifying', 'Break The Spell' & 'Continental Drift' - you have 5 wondrous tracks.

Such a coincidence, was just listening to the track last night - had a strong inkling to put it on and it sounded even better than I'd remembered. Love it; the groove, hypnotic sax and a pretty good lyric from our man MickĀ¬! Must look up Rene's track talks and see when exactly 'twas recorded

JumpinJeppe, I have both books and they are definitely worth the purchase; Marilour's "Love You Live" being especially evocative - full of fans tales of their love for the band Buying on Amazon is very straightforward, I buy most of my music there now - rarely buy in HMV or Tower here in Dublin due to prices.

Greetings, I suppose veryone has seen the great 1973 European TV interview with the Stones; it's on YouTube, My query is, for anyone in-the-know; the longer version of this seems to be someone who maybe filmed it from the TV screen with a video camera. The noise in the background suggests it's not a straight recording from TV. Anyone know if this interview exists in better qual

Hey Gaz! It should be good alright; Ronnie's playing aswell as giving an interview! Really enjoying his solo album, with two exceptions - 100% and Fancy Pants. "..Pants' has some tasty guitar work but the lyrics are woeful^

Dang!! I'll miss the great man by 3 days; I'm in London 28th, 29th and 30th October My only hope is if Keith comes over here to Dublin to do a signing, even though the Waterstones sites says London is his only UK 'gig' for it. F***!!!

Fully agree with the sentiments - I love the Manics!! A truly great band imo, and am seeing them at both Brixton shows the week after next The new album 'Postcards' is a darn good 'un, I spent the weekend catching up with what I think are their best albums, "Gold against the Soul" & the terrific, dark "Holy Bible". Great, great band..

If I may, a quick query - Is the CD bookelt any good? With favourite artists, I still like to get the physical CD rather than download; but these days, maybe the download will do. If the booklet is worth having though, I'll go for the CD!

There is a very cool Stones shop - 'Gimme Shelter' - which most Stones fans probably have heard about. It's in the Shibuya area; google it for the address. I was there 2 or 3 years ago,on the way to see Megadeth in downtown Tokyo, made a trip to 'Gimme Shelter' - there's a Beatles shop next to it actually, and I think a Reggae shop; an enclave in a shopping centre

I saw them in Dublin; and must say it was wonderful. Mr. Rose and his motley crew of mates gave us a view of vintage Axl that night - not the fiery, visceral performer of old but the insolent, contemptuous side of the rock legend that caused riots and confusion aplenty at gigs from '88 - '93. Even in saying that, it was, to my mind, overall, an excellent show - if one could see past
