I just put here my experiences with getting that bittorrent going with linux. Just to help other people Step 1) Get a client. On Debian just type "apt-get install bittorrent" Step 2) Get the file drake points to, open with your browser the link "[];. Step 3) As a normal user run btdownloadcurses --max_uploads 5 --keepalive_interval 500.0 ~/rollingstones_columbus2005_drake.

Yes it's a memory card stick that's $50 or so. It's waiting to be hacked. A complete nonsense idea from the record industry. Apparently you also buy with that the right to download a few more tracks from SG TY or ER to your stick. In the end instead of CDs you'll have sticks, lots of them. You'll have to buy everything anew. Then they will rerelease all sticks with the or

This is most debated issue on the board. Somebody said go and listen to the Mayall 2003 2CD from his 70th birthday. There's Taylor on there and he's pretty good. The whole 2CD set is worth buying. Its a fine blues record. I won't sign the petition though after having heard "Sway". That's a lot better then what I heard Wood doing on Live Licks in CYHMK. I found tha

Well that list would be hard to complete. I've heard that 191 countries are in the UN. So from more than half of the world there are people here. That's quite impressive. I did not know there were so many around here. And if anything that list has probably only become longer since it was last compiled in 2002.

@stonedmike OK, it's from Jagger's 1993 solo album. I think the song is called "Don't tear me up" So strictly speaking it's not a stones song.

Thanks a million. I will not see a show until they leave the americas and I'm quite jealous of all you people who go and see the one show after the other. In this way I get to have part of the fun too.

Yep, I have one too from the Urban jungle tour. Bought it in Cologne in 1990. The T-shirt should be 15 years old by now, so that would be the authenticity test.

Vilhelm, Yes it's not a boot, but I does that mean that Jagger agreed to have the film released? I can hardly imagine that because the DVD is great as for content, but bad as for production. Some of the songs are not complete, it's even different from a release that was shown on television in the 80's in holland. When I bought it I was very disappointed because of the cuts in th

Can somebody explain to me how this is possible? Is there some material from 1969 for which the copyright is not owned by the Stones themselves? This package is a bit like this Granada television "Stones in the park" DVD. That's also not an official release. But how can they release it? The songs played are copyrighted by the stones, so how can this be legal?

Don't want to start a computer discussion here but if you're using windoze, try reinstalling the software as turd suggests. Scandisk is normally pretty useless. Try find some better hard disk scan software. Or buy a new burner ( that is, if you're not using a laptop ) they are pretty cheap. Don't be afraid to open the box, it's really easy.

Nope, there is no DVD. The current japanese version is just the same as the european one. The only difference is that there are japanese translations of the lyrics included. That's all. As soon as you find the DVD plz inform the board. For now it's not there. ( I was also told so at HMV )

But everybody understand why one would make this sort of remark. On this board there is constant bashing of Stones related stuff: ticket prices, too high; setlist, not good; guitar solos, crappy; new CD, 6 out 16 songs boring; and so on. At the same people are screaming how good U2 and Paul McCartney are. Personally I find that both these artists produce boring material and I love the stones. It

@country honk Imagine what would have happened had he broken his neck & died. Then the world would have been inondated with Beatles & McCartney material. Now he's just quietly touring & we don't have to hear that stuff... I do feel some sympathy for what you say, but really we're better off with him alive.

@lofi poet Criss cross man is indeed an outtake from Goats head soup. It's excellent. There are a few more outtakes from that album that are real good. Can anybody tell me which japanese film you refer to? The gimme shelter is indeed on the b-side of wild horses. It was on another CD-single as well, can't remember which. It's good, but what's on the "Stripped companio

So it seems that the current japanese version on sale is sort of the same as the European version. The player that is launched when you put the CD in the computer is different, but that is all. If you click "extras" ( the button on lower right corner of the player screen ) you are being referred to a site anybody can see where there are indeed two grainy videos of live versions of "

Hi, I was in Europe as the CD came out. I bought the european version. Now I'm back in Japan, but when I came to the HMV, they told me there was no version with a DVD. There are two versions on sale here. A japanese version, that's a little more expensive, but seems to offer no really interesting extras, and the one you can buy in Europe as well. So does anybody know, what happen

I don't know if this link was posted before, it was this morning on a dutch website. If you don't wanna go there, here's the text. Apparently you can also see video there. It sure seems that politics excites some people more than the 5th or 6th of september the new album comes out. Personally I can't wait for 9-5 to happen. I want that bigger bang, coz it will be a rocking peaceful one, and everybody will be very happy with it. BTW, were some parts of the song aired in all this press coverage?

Well, I'm kinda jealous of you there. I'd love to pass some time in NYC. Indeed the boots are in the village. I can't remember where exactly. But I do remember that I found useful info in Lonely Planet's guide to New York. They also had an entry for a restaurant near the Chelsea hotel. It was a cuban-chinese restaurant. That's the best restaurant I have ever been to. It

Does anybody hear get as angry as I get when I hear on the radio that some folks there have already heard the album? They are just a bunch of nitwits. They are not half as committed as many people on this board who would love to hear the new album. It's just not fair. The radio people and the pluggers basically do not care. And still they get to hear the album. Same deal with the theatre sho
