ted by: Hairball () Date: June 22, 2020 00:36 Tell Tale Signs...no doubt one of the best compilations ever - I even sprung for the (overpriced) 3 disk Deluxe version which included a neat Theme Time Radio Hour poster (for the first 5,000 pre-orders), a book of Dylan singles art, a 7" vinyl single, and of course the third disk filled with more greatness. > Tell Tale Signs Yes that

te DandelionPowderman Is that obvious? IMO, they were writing songs for SF, GHS and IORR that both gave Taylor more space and a different musical platform for him to express himself. That made his decision to leave even more puzzling. Great point DP - Thats why I listen to GHS and IORR more along with BB then any other RS record. They were exploring more with Jaggers vocals and crafti

I think MT showed his talent with writing Slow Blues, Giddy Up and Spanish A Minor I think his two studio records were fantastic and he wasted his talent all those years after the stones and just collaborated with other artists to get by. I do not think Jeff Beck could of wrote a better blues composition then Slow Blues or a better tonal fushion masterpiece like Spanish A Minor. Just my opinion

So far the extra rare performances if that is what you want to call them is only the bonus tracks from the DVD's that most have bought and seen already kind of disappointing and those songs are not rare.

Lovers Plea for me is like Continental Drift two of the best studio songs the stones ever did. I always listen to CH and Keith's solo records and Mick's solo records which for me fill the void of those above records since the 80's which I hardly listen to. The exile and some girls bonus tracks are enjoyable to listen to also.

I still do not care for the new song sorry not to offend those who do. I prefer to listen to One More Shot and Doom and Gloom or Keith's CEH album for any new stones material or the exile and some girls bonus disks and Blue and Lonesome.

Open tunings does not make any song better but it can add that thunderous sound dimension - JJF and SFM on acoustic guitar with open tunings no electric guitar and you get that wall of sound.

Beggars Banquet - Mick and Keith started their path to develop as great songwriters and Keith use of open tunings and the rest is history.
