Start Me Up is a giant opener and the powerful way they did it on the Urban Jungle-tour was awesome. But as far as details and brilliance is concerned; the only live-version I have heard where Jagger made the same twist on the last refrain (I`ll take you places that you´ve never, never seeeeeee-ey-ey-ey-ey-eyn)"as on Tattoo You was at the Stockholm Circus of 2003. Verse: A - G - Fiss - E - G - A Refrain: D - A - G - D - A I think these roughly are the guitarchords to one of the new classics. It`s big fun to play along to this track. If anyone can improve on this I am grateful. I also love the solo of Keith Richards on this song, and it would be nice if anyone could "tell" how play it. Gunnar

I saw the opening show in august 1994 (Washington, DC). It was really a great (and very long) concert. The band was well-rehearsed and the fact that the fans didn´t know what songs would be played, added to the excitement. Not Fade Away as an opener - who could have expected that? We also got Can´t Get Next To You (Temptations) Undercover of the Night, The Worst (KR), Sparks Will Fly, Out of Tea

The Rolling Stones´ concert in beautiful, but rainy Bergen, 1st of September 2006 was amazing. This was my 9th Rolling Stones-concert since 1982, and once again the band blew me away. I was lucky (and wealthy enough) to score a Golden Circle-ticket and had great views of the main stage. Soundwise it was just fantastic right from the the first song (Jumpin´Jack Flash) with loud guitars, hard drums

Thank you, Rockman! Before the Licks Tour I showed my son, then 5 years old, a fresh photo of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, I think it was in Rolling Stone. The Glimmer Twins sat relaxing in a very nice room, both staring directly into the camera. My son, a bit scared, said: "They look like thieves!". This was years before Richards´link to the Pirates of the Caribeean was made.

I love this song from A Bigger Bang. It is very well performed and arranged. Keith Richards sings beautiful and Jagger´s backing vocals is really moving. A Bigger Bang has brought us several new outstanding songs from Jagger/Richards and very well performed by this unique band called the Rolling Stones. This Place Is Empty is one of them, Laugh, I Nearly Died, Biggest Mistake, Oh, No Not You Aga

The Word´s August 2006 issue has Keith Richards on the front page and the post accident cover story spells "Our Father Who Aren´t In Heaven". The only information I have found on the net is this . Kind regards, Gunnar

I always thought of this as an average Stones-song. On the other hand, I quite often catch myself humming the melody. In other words, I am hooked again. Gunnar

Why such a screaming medical headline to a mainly musical topic? Please, be more careful with words. Kind regards, Gunnar

The original version on Let It Bleed is superior. Honestly, I very seldom find the official recorded or bootlegged live versions of songs better than the officially released studioversions. The magic of being at a great Rolling Stones concert has to be experienced. Monkey Man has blown me away at concerts, but listening to the livetrack afterwards didn´t do much compared to the Let It Bleed recor

I am listening to AccuRadio.com, Twang-channel, and along comes a great band I have never heard of before, The Deadstring Brothers. They play sharpedged country-rock and the singer definetly has had his share of singinglessons with Mick Jagger. Kind regards, Gunnar

Baboon Bro is straight to the point. Everything we know so far about Gothenburg and Bergen is based on rumours from several fan-sites. These days you have to be a very good and hardworking reader to trace out "truth" from "rubbish". Hopefully we will get to know very soon from official sources. I really hope that no more concerts will be cancelled or postponed. Far above that,

New Faces is timeless. A beautiful traditional melody, good lyrics, and a very nice arrangement. Jaggers singing and phrasing is superb on this one. Classic stuff. I like Sweethearts Together, but most for its charming duet. Kind regards, Gunnar

Thanks to Baboon Bro and Rockman for reminding me on those great Tom Waits- quotes on Keith Richards and the Stones. Tom Waits is really one of the greatest artists and songwriters of our era, and his words are always inventive and straight to the point. It is such a pleasure to read his descriptions of sessions with Keith Richards. I will listen to Tom Waits´album Real Gone for the rest of t

I think Biggest Mistake proves that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards still are excellent songwriters. This is classic stuff. However, this is the track on ABB that I think of as a missed oppurtinity productionwise. I would love a more transparent acoustic folk- or countrysound, and I do believe that a mandolin (Ronnie Wood!!!) or a 12-string guitar (Keith Richards) could make it an outstanding trac

"After drugs and illness nearly destroyed the world's greatest rock and roll band, Keith Richards tells how he and the Rolling Stones survived and got back to their roots for their new album, A Bigger Bang. PLUS Keith tells the stories behind his 10 all-time-favorite Stones riffs." Cheers, Gunnar
