The throbbing synthesizer at the end is supposed to sound like someone getting ready to vomit - a nice nod to the lyrics about a life wasted by over-indulgence.

The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett Dracula by Bram Stoker The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler are my top three favorite fiction titles. Favorite fiction author would be Sax Rohmer. favorite non-fiction would be The History of Christendom series by Warren Carroll.

Stones' misheard anti-semitic songs, eh? How about "Under the Radar" with the line, "You've been my Jew, I've been your fool all along?" How about "Tumbling Dice" with "I don't need no Jews in my crown?" It's their "Purple Haze." In truth, I'm pretty sure on the circulating Little Boy Blue and the Bluebo

I would say that Chuck Leavell replaced Keith as musical director onstage. I would also say that Mick Jagger replaced Keith as musical leader in the studio. See the lyrics to "Infamy."

Belated response to BustedTrousers: Here's the timetable I believe is correct May 1986 Stones in London for "One Hit" video and business meeting. Mick tells the others he's decided to record a second solo album (meaning album 3 of the 4 album CBS deal will not benefit any of them) and do a world tour as a solo act (world tour plan confirmed in Beggars Banquet, Rolling St

Melillo's statement is true in as much as it's also true for Mick and Keith and anyone else who ever made a lot of money with their talent. That's life. If you want Mother Theresa, you won't find her in a rock 'n' roll band.

In terms of sales, SHE'S THE BOSS sold over double of what TALK IS CHEAP sold. TALK IS CHEAP outsold PRIMITIVE COOL and GODDESS IN THE DOORWAY by over 200,000 copies each. WANDERING SPIRIT sold about the same as TALK IS CHEAP (a little more, but not substantially greater). MAIN OFFENDER outsold ALFIE. ALFIE outsold LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM. THE VERY BEST OF MICK JAGGER outsold MAIN OF

You can't hear Johnny with Chuck unless it's on record or video, sadly. He passed away. Mr. Berry did indeed open for the Stones in 1969. I believe they did not play "Carol" or "Little Queenie" those nights out of respect. Someone more knowledgeable than me should be able to confirm. Several of the Stones joined Chuck onstage at The Hollywood Palladium in 197

Quotemitchflorida Quotebillwebster Oh! It's another ABCKO product! Actually, it's another ABKCO/Stones commercial for a men's cologne. ABKCO and the Stones are doing another commercial tie-in later this Fall. It will be a Trojan Condoms ad with a special live version of "Satisfaction" from the October, 1966 Honolulu concert. <Yawn!> Another day. Another Mit

A minor correction but worth noting that there was a band meeting in London in May 1988. It was there that it was agreed in principle to record another album and tour in 1989. Several more meetings followed over the summer of 1988 in London, Paris, and New York as Mick recorded demos first with Charlie, then with Ronnie, and finally taking them to Keith (who told multiple interviewers while promo

Look at it this way, lem - the biggest contract in their career calls for four albums and only one of the four is contractually required to be from the band and one of the remaining three is contractually required from Jagger as a solo act. The other two can be either the band or Jagger. For anyone but Jagger, this is a terrible contract since it places all of the power for the band's fu

lem, much as I enjoyed picturing the vein in your forehead throb when you let loose on Keith above, you might wish to note that "shear will" is actually "sheer will" and that the inclusion of periods at the end of your sentences and the addition of capital letters to the first word at the beginning of your sentences will help you pass for reasonably educated. Sadly, it will do

Keith's tours were theater gigs with a couple arenas. The only stadium show was a single date in Buenos Aires. Hardly Stones-calibre success, but not a flop either. Mick never had tickets put on sale in the US or Europe despite rumors to that effect. His solo tour did not bomb, he just was too nervous to test the major markets. He and Jeff Beck fell out over money when Mick was supposed

Yes, they did. The CBS deal was signed in August 1983 before UNDERCOVER came out. TATTOO YOU was huge and so were SOME GIRLS and EMOTIONAL RESCUE (despite the latter's reputation) and the 1981 tour was very much in Yetnikoff's mind. These were still the days of "Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones" in the eyes of promoters and disc jockeys and Keith was viewed as a brain de

In the case of GIMME SOME NECK, the basic tracks were cut during the SOME GIRLS sessions at Pathe-Marconi. I suspect the Stones paid for the sessions and Woody had to then pay for the mixing and overdubbing in LA out of his own pocket. He would have been reimbursed when he sold the tapes outright to Columbia Records and signed a deal for a further album and tour support. Mick, Keith, and Charlie

"The Road" (1987) by The Kinks "I started playing blues in a coffee bar I took a trip down the Charing Cross Road with my imitation Gretsch guitar and a head full of songs and my eyes full of stars I saw a band called The Rolling Stones I said that's it, I'll get a band I'm leaving home, I'm out on the road"

While we're busy calling each other douches and tools (great name for a chain of stores by the way), it might be worthwhile recalling that when speaking of the Stones, the artist owns the product and the record company is just a distributor. The same goes for WINGLESS ANGELS which Keith owns outright.

Musically, it's a cousin of "Moon is Up" from VOODOO LOUNGE. Keith's love of the "You Got It In For Me" joke can also be heard in "Will But You Won't" on MAIN OFFENDER. As an aside, word plays have always fascinated him from "Anita Love/I Need a Love" in "Happy" to "I lean won't you lean on me" in "Eileen."

Now that that's settled let's get down to business. Which Stone would you rather shag and when? For me, it'd be Brian in 2010. That way I'm only a degenerate and could still feel secure in my sexuality.

I enjoyed the first one, but all the overpriced variations are a bit much. There are times where I feel they've ripened into the Sinatra of their generation. THE ROLLING STONES SING THEIR BANKBOOK. Only $150 for a print that Keith leaked on while in the loo. Each urine-stained charcoal print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the William Morris Agency.

I'll be happy for a new album however we can get it. If I could choose, I'd have Rob Fraboni in the producer's chair with Ben Elliott engineering. I doubt Mick would want that and quite honestly Universal wouldn't either.

Perhaps they're negotiating with one another. You have to admit it does seem sadly akin to Middle East peace talks to enable the band to actually work together these days short of walking a red carpet at a premiere or sitting down for interviews.

It doesn't work that way exactly. The BBC owns broadcasting rights and the rights to the actual recordings made using their facilities. In order to commercially release material recorded for broadcast use only, the rightsholder of the artist's studio material at the time the recordings were made (usually the label the artist recorded for at the time or their successor in interest) must
