Jagger had two appearances on Letterman's Late Night show for NBC. The first was in early 1988 when Jerry Hall was the guest to plug her line of bathing suits although Dave just wanted to talk about when Mick was going to marry her and then hit on Jerry himself. Dave dared Jerry to give Mick a call which she did. It didn't appear to be rehearsed as she asked his permission to put his vo

Sorry to hear the sad news, Terry. That's two Angels who have earned their wings now. I'll be listening to Mr. Hinds on Crashbox Lust when I get home from work tonights in his memory.

Agree that Clifford and Cook were then and remain today a great rhythm section. They're my second favorite after Wyman and Watts. Sure, Fogerty could have taken the high road and played with them at the Hall of Fame, but a CCR reunion is meaningless. Would Fogerty's post-CCR recordings and shows have sounded better with those two guys as the bottom? You bet, but there's no incentiv

Yeah, it was unspeakable when Fogerty refused to play on stage at the Hall of Fame with his late brother and the rhythm section that testified against him in the self-plagiarism lawsuit. Just why the guy that wrote, produced, sang, and played lead guitar, saxophone, and organ on all of CCR's hits and 99.5% of their recorded output feels he has some kind of proprietarial claim to the band is

Jerome Smith subbed for Charley Drayton as the bassist for the 1993 North American tour. Drayton's last gig with The Winos was the New Year's Eve show in New York in 1992. The late Jerome Smith was the bassist for KC and the Sunshine Band and played on early sessions for Mick's Wandering Spirit CD (he receives an acknowledgement, but isn't on any of the released tracks). I thought the point of "Blinded By Rainbows" is the hypocrisy of people killing one another in the name of God. The specific topic of the song is the IRA. The song examines the hypocrisy of a man who reverently kneels and prays before the image of his God being the same man who callously blows up a little boy's father with a bomb. The final verse notes that when these same people m

The confusion is that some bootlegs list "Still a Fool" from the Beggars Banquest sessions as "Catfish" or "Catfish Blues." I believe the main offender was the Ultrarare Trax series from The Genuine Pig. As for the Sumlin CD itself...it's a good CD if you like vintage Chicago Blues. The Keith track is what I expected. He handled the vocals better than I thought

Why do we care about Mick's health? Because we're fans and want more music and concerts from a favorite performer. Does Mick care about his fans' health? Yes, in as much as we help supply his income, I'm sure he does. Why ELSE would we care if Mick had throat cancer and why would he care if we were ill? Because most of us (including Mick) are decent human beings and wouldn

I believe the complete list would be: Jiving Sister Fanny, Rocks Off, Star Star, Some Girls, Miss You (live), Respectable (live), Just My Imagination (live 78 only), She's So Cold (live 81 sometimes), Too Much Blood, All the Way Down, Fight, Dirty Work, Had It With You, Sparks Will Fly, Suck on the Jugular, Through and Through, and Too Tight. If we extend the list to bootlegs: I Need Y

The version of Miss You is a hybrid between the 12" extended mix and the album track (longer intro, you get the extra verse, longer Woody solo, but you keep Mel Collins' sax unlike the 12") and it comes from the 8-track. Beast of Burden from the 8-track is longer with a few lyrical differences but is inferior to the album track. Before They Make Me Run is from the promo 45 and is a

Whether it was coke-fuelled or not, I agree Jagger sang and performed with an adandon that seemed to disappear after Europe 73. The subsequent IORR sessions through the 82 tour show Jagger, still in amazing form, but camping it up and posing in direct contrast with the conviction that was present in the early 70s. In the past twenty years, he still has moments in the studio and on stage which rem

Ronnie's playing with The Faces and the contemporaneous Rod solo albums were definitely his musical peak. His work with The Stones live 1975-1976 showed him trying to reach Taylor's dizzying heights with varying degrees of success (similar to his playing on the Licks World Tour). His best early studio work with Keith can be found on Woody's first two solo albums where they click mu

Hi, I am looking for audio versions of the Four Flicks DVD set. I own Live Licks but would like to have a CD version of Four Flicks as well. Is anyone willing to do B & P trade for me? I am not looking for artwork or anything elaborate, just a set of CDR's. Thanks.

The Kinks' first LP and Mark Knopfler's Shangri-La were this morning's CD's of choice. Last night I had Four Flicks Paris show on while working.
