It's never been one of my favs. Honestly, I never really got into that number. The lyrics are extremely weak, the riff's sort of okay but not more. I haven't figured out why it was used as opener for an album. Possibly the influence of Billy Preston ...

I've been excited eversince I'm a Stones fan, which started in the early 1980s. For me, every album, every new tour is like a dessert after the main dish.

I'd define a warhorse a song which is also known by non Stones fans. Many people I know who aren't particular fans know the biggest hits such as Satisfaction, HTW, Angie or SMU. Asking them if they knew "newer" songs they can't say. SMU was literally the last great successful single generating interest in the Stones also from people that hadn't been 'fans'

Quoteretired_dog Quote24FPS QuoteS.T.P The big question is: what are we getting for christmas in the year of the 60th anniversary -a pair of new socks???? There hasn't been a word about getting anything this year for the usual Stones Christmas package. El Mocambo might be it. (And believe me I'm grateful). A while ago I posted that I heard they were talking with ABKCO, but so far th

QuoteCaptain Teague QuoteMeise London 2012 was a mess. Boring and lousy playing. Hope they will never release it! Clearly you were not there. Boring?!! Take a look at the setlists! True, I wasn't there. But all the videos I watched on DVD/BR or at YT didn't give the impression of good concerts as the Stones were rather lame and played ... partly lousy.

QuoteUrbanSteel QuoteMeise It might be true that all shows since Steel Wheels have been professionally recorded. There might have been brilliant shows since then, some of which were already released officially. But there are so many raw diamonds from the 1960s throughout the 1980s in the vaults - these are the shows I'm really interested in watching. There is no official release from 1970,

I own that CD. Compared to the major tours 1972/73, it's a rather poor performance. In particular, Sweet Virginia is terible ...

The first Beatles single was the the first step towards a new culture, better saying a new pop culture. Honestly speaking, without the Beatles's success the Stones would have remained as a blues band. I don't see that major influence for James Bond films - maybe another genre but not more. Those films didn't generate the earthquake as the Beatles music. If one could compare at a

I once read (dunno the book exactly) that in certain places during the 1981 tour the band was announced as "Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones". The hell knows why that happened or who originated that. The only thing for sure is that Keith was massively pissed.

QuoteLady Jayne Remembering Charlie today - I may watch the episode focussing on him in the recent 60th anniversary series on BBC iPlayer again tonight. Blessings to Shirley and his family. That's exactly what I did last night. Sort of reminiscence to Charlie ... it's still heartbreaking to me he's passed.

I just watched "Connection" from Liverpool at youtube. Horrible. A complete mess in the beginning, aweful singing, and an even more aweful Keith guitar solo. They sound like they just started playing as a band. Without the accompanying musicians they'd be completely lost.

Quotebakersfield Do you seriously think Mick Jagger will sing ‘what a drag it is getting old’ in public?? I’ll eat my hat if it happens… Mick changed the lyrics of "Spider and The Fly" for the Stripped recordings. Why shouldn't he change lyrics again? Maybe "What a ride it is gettin' old" ... ;-)

Last Sunday I attended the Munich gig, coming along with two interesting facts concerning all setlist discussions. 1st: I went there with my 13-year-old son (his first concert ever), who is - and that's amazing - a Beatles fan. Before the show I asked him what songs he'd like to hear that night. He came up with "Paint It Black", "JJFlash", "HTWomen" and
