I love Mixed Emotions, but rhyming ‘butt’ and ‘strut’ is hilariously lazy.

No Brown Sugar is not a surprise? Maybe not anymore, but when 2021 came and it was absent this and other Stones fan boards were definitely in shock that they dropped it. It's been accepted that it's not coming back, but let's not act like it wasn't a surprising change to the status quo. 19NB lasted through all but one 2021 show and most of the 2022 shows til it sadly fell o

I've never liked this song. Maudlin, overwrought, and very generic. I wanna hear the Stones do a song like this like I wanna hear Barry Manilow do Jumping Jack Flash.

Not the most interesting selection of songs, but good to see things back up to 20. They just need to change up the songs between Start Me Up and Angry more often, and do another ballad other than horses.

I don't know what you've been smoking. A lot has changed since 2019. - No Charlie and no Brown Sugar - the reintroduction of 19th Nervous Breakdown as a regular and the debut of Out of Time - faster tempos - different stage - different set list structure - three-four new songs a night - Connection and Little T&A returning to Keith's set after having not been played in

Quoterattler2004 I Am Waiting…not obvious but listen closely Oh, this is such a good choice. Subtly unnerving and the lyrics are creepy as hell.

Not sure how Whole Wide World is. That’s maybe the most positive, life affirming song they’ve ever done.

I think this is Keith’s weakest contribution to a vocal on a Stones album aside from Too Rude. A watered down Little T&A, with none of the grit or cleverness of that one.

I think the MetLife 2 version from this current tour should join the ranks. They nailed it, and not just in a “this is good for 80 year olds” way. The excitement and anticipation for it were off the charts, and the band delivered. Keith was ALL over the foundation of the song, it was like a switch flipped in him and he was back to, maybe not his youth, but certainly his 1999-03 self. Mick wail

None of the Sweet Sounds performance have come close to the Racket performance with Gaga. That is stunning, nuanced, tight and connected late period Stones. That Jagger at 80 recreated and topped the howls from the studio take blows my mind. And Gaga really compliments him well, not that Chanel doesn’t. The tour versions lose something without the breakdown / reprise at the end. I guess it’s t

Lots of interesting answers in this thread! I think my answer may have changed, there’s a pretty convincing argument for Sister Morphine. Love in Vain is another good one, that one feels so empty and hopeless. Agreed that Moonlight Mile really isn’t that dark, I think the ending implies that the narrator made it home and is being swept up in a torrent of passion. I think the darkest albu

In terms of lyrics, subject matter, musical atmosphere…. …. I feel like the obvious answers would be Sympathy, Shelter, Rambler, etc. but my vote actually goes to 100 Years Ago. That whole song is bleak and ominous about impending mortality. Nothing good is coming the narrator’s way.

It’d be nice if Live with Me finally came back. All Down the Line, Rocks Off, and Bitch have been played, and for some reason I group it with those three as the most played non-single rockers that pop up often from the big four.

QuoteRisingStone QuoteSoulSurvivor1990 3/24/06 is easily a top 5 Bang show for the entire tour. That’s quite a praise, really. I’m glad I was there. Yes, it was a great show. To tell you the truth, I’m not a fan of the Bang Tour — the stage set was too lavish for my taste, so much so that it even gave me a tacky impression. Vegas tour gone too far. I only caught two shows, Tokyo 3/24 and Nag

Atlantic City '06 blows away the Beacon shows. It may well be Keith's best show of the entire century. Giants Stadium and Zilker are also better shows.

In 1972-73, you'd be hard pressed to name a bad show regardless of quality. They were playing at such a high level back then that you could throw a dart at almost any show and argue it as the best of that tour. Conversely, it's much easier to pick out the bad from the good these days thanks to the improvements in audience taping and the ability to capture IEM / soundboard feeds. Both

Quotehockenheim95 QuoteSoulSurvivor1990 Man, that Orlando JJF is absolutely smoking. Even when Keith plays the riff a little too early before the third verse, it totally works in showing how enthused he is. If there's one warhorse that I think Jordan totally brought new life to, it's JJF. Anyway, Keith's playing been on a steady upswing since the nadir of 2017. He was great in 2

QuoteTurningToGold2 I've noticed that Steve plays fairly hard during the piano solo on "Honky Tonk Women," Charlie used to sort of take that verse "off" and play it lightly, kind of a shuffle thing, during the latter years. I actually liked the way Charlie played it, because it made the piano solo seem kinda dreamlike and ethereal. But it's fine the way Steve plays i

I was thinking Chili as well. Sasha’s first, excellent quality bootleg, and the band is still playing with the energy they had on Zip Code. 2/10 and 2/24 are also contenders. Always thought this was the tour where their age suddenly caught up on them.

I must admit I was swayed by the fact that Zurich is available in great sound quality whereas those others aren't, making it easier to gauge performance level and musicianship, both of which I feel were on point for that show and that tour. 2017 is probably the worst Keith year post-2007, and on both tours I'll admit he pulled it together at the end (though he still committed some egreg

The 2017 tour as a whole was underwhelming. Zurich being the best isn't saying much, but it's the most well played show and probably the best set list of the tour. Keith did his best playing of the tour at that show.
