QuoteProfessorWolf Quotemnewman505 “Yeah, so I don’t get it, I mean, it’s not really The Rolling Stones anymore” Not sure what that even means. Frankly, I could give a shit what they call themselves. With all due respect to Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman, Ian Stewart, Brian Jones and Bobby Keys — The Rolling Stones are Mick & Keith. Just like when push comes to shove The Who is Pete & Roger,

Yeah v v quiet. Why are they so private nowadays re their rehearsals ?? The buzz when we had people trying to hear outside was great. It added to the anticipation and excitement of the tour starting.

QuoteRip This Quotejigsaw69 The Rolling Stones Live at the El Mocambo is just incredible. The 75-77 version of the band at the peak of their powers. Raw, funky, dirty, grimey, greasy, rockin, rollin. Makes u remember why you fell in love with this all those years ago. THIS THIS aka The Rolling Stones !!!!!!!!!!!

QuoteMadMax QuoteTaylor1 QuoteLynd8 Apparently, you don't love you liveI think some songs such IfYou Can’t Rock Me/Get Off My Cloud were better in 1975.I have always disliked Star Star and Fingerprint File and IORR live and they could have been replaced.Love You Live could have been better with more 1975 show songs IORR? Personally...I would leave LYL alone - love it as it is !! Would much rather have Les Rolling Stones Les Abatoirs Paris 1976, s'il vous plait .....everybody chantez avec nous....

For me, its nothing to do with who has more money or fame. From the prism of 2022, we perhaps forget about the massive cultural impact The Stones made on the world at large from mid-60s until say mid-80s. That kind of impact will never happen again as the world was a far smaller place back then in terms of media and communications - hence why their impact was even greater. Even now, The St

What's everyone's thoughts on the opening song and last song for 2022 ?? Opening song - same every gig, or mix it up ? 2021 was mostly SFM but was mixed up with others. I can see it being that again. Last song - same every gig, or mix it up ? 2021 was Satisfaction as usual. No doubt will probably be that. My dream would be Under My Thumb in the style of '81 an

I have 12" pink vinyl as well. Love it !! And now you mention it, sometimes when i have listened to it, it does feel like a different take as well as a different mix. Also agree that Harlem Shuffle is a great 12" extended mix. Same with One Hit.

1981 version is the best imho. Under My Thumb, Still Life, first few chords....it's what turned me onto the Stones many decades ago Hampton Roads version is also amazing. In fact most '81 versions i have heard are all great !!! I thought in '82 it wasn't quite as good. Possibly too fast and a bit clunky in places. 1969 version is super cool n groovy. Very of it&#

I loved Keef 'n Ronnie on backing vocals in 75/76, 78, 81/82 tours. I think it was such a fundamental part of their sound on those tours, and was such a pity they stopped it - amongst many other ingredients which were lost come '89. Something was definitely lost from their sound when they were both replaced by the backing singers. I appreciate it was probably to help Mick shar

A Bigger Bang for me personally, is the Stones weakest album. It is just an album i have never got into, despite really trying. I find the production way way over the top and the lyrics on many occasions just desperately poor. I can maybe listen to 1 or 2 tracks on a rare occasion, but apart from that it was (and still is in 2022) just a disappointment. Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge and Bridges

Quotedjango Here is my little Live Aid story. It was the time when there was very few live music on German TV. We had the Rockpalast twice a year (I hoped for years that the Stones would play there) and that was it. And MTV of course. So we were very enthusiastic when the event was announced. I watched the whole show together with a friend. First we met at his flat for breakfast and later, during

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotejigsaw69 I thought Live Aid was brilliant !! Highlights for me were Queen, U2, Bowie, Cars, Simple Minds, with a notable mention for Clapton, Dire Straits and Status Quo Jagger was hamming it up and trying his best to be a solo artist. Looking back it wasn't that great was it. Can u imagine if The Stones had declared peace, got their chops together, properly

LOVE this song First time I heard it was around '87 on a radio review of the Stones at the BBC. Most of the songs played that day ended up on The Rolling Stones on Air album. I then got a blue baseball jacket same year and got 2120 South Michigan Avenue put on the back in white letters. Happy days !!!!!!!

Had this on VHS. In the days when you had very little Stones stuff on film at home, this was a welcome addition. All a bit tongue in cheek tho...... .....the scene in the shop is the best part. Pointing to Thro the Past Darkly cover and MJ saying "its me, me....Micky....Micky Jageero"....then he goes into full Jagger hamming it up mode as he struts n jumps to re-recordings of Br

QuoteBitchKeepsBitchin I'm flying in from NY with Lucky Dips! What's the best thing for a Stones tourist to do in Liverpool? Cavern Club? Anything else Stones related? and I've seen the Stones without Charlie and I was worried the first time that it might not be as good, but don't let that stop you because Steve J brings some new life into the band, and they sound great.
