The Russian defense was better than Stalingrad...but seriously, it was Spain's own fault. 1000+ metronomic passes?! That was ridiculous. At least try and do something to scramble things up!

In an interview with Pete Townsend last year during a Who tour, he was asked why he still tours as The Who? He answered something like..."It would be churlish not to. It's easy for me, I make a lot of money and I can make thousands of people happy. I'm not Robert Plant who thinks touring as Led Zeppelin would ruin his artistic integrity."

The 'baby boom' refers to actual number of births of which there was an above average bulge starting in 1946 and ending in 1964. The peak year was 1955 in North Amwerica. There are more people aged 63 as of today than any other age. Millennials, God bless them, have no idea who the Kinks and couldn't care less. As good as they were, they don't even qualify for a retro t-shi

QuoteRollingFreak As for Robert Plant, its been said a million times before, in this very thread no less, his live shows are his live shows. They haven't gotten any different in the last 20 years. He plays half Zep...I've never heard a bad review of his shows... I just saw Plant last week in Toronto. I went in expecting to be mildly entertained. Instead, the show was great with a

Bands don't sit around in a studio all night composing songs and lyrics on actual instruments...with a bottle of jJck in the corner. Wasn't the best rock music created in a basement somewhere in France?

Quotetatters "They want a physical representation of their emotional connection with an artist." This, in a nutshell, explains the vinyl comeback. I know it's the reason I started buying vinyl again. It thinking it will also happen to the book market soon enough. Downloads and e-readers make great music and great books disposable and eventually forgotten...

My Top 5 is identical to the list...but they also have switched places often. But only 3 have ever held top spot on my list... LIB, Sticky and Exile. I do think Black & Blue deserves a higher ranking...maybe a couple of notches. Funny thing....expand the list to include live albums and for me at least, Ya-Ya's has been my #1 for 48 years!

Quotenoughties Right. They were maybe even bigger in the early 80s than in the late 60s. Absolutely. The way that I recall it is that The Doors were considered as a pretty good rock and roll band with an interesting sound in the late 60's...but nowhere near the legendary status that the '81 book gave them in the public consciousness.

QuoteChrisMahavishnu Really looking forward to this, the From the Vault series have all been excellent releases, it's evident that care was put into getting the best out of the sound and picture on these shows regardless of how they were captured. I also love that they are all available in high quality vinyl editions which don't cost the earth. I hope they keep them coming! I hope the
