The part at the end of Shine A Light when Mick exits vocally over Mick Taylor’s solo does it for me.
If You Really Want To Be My Friend - love the whole damn thing.

Mine’s easy, from listening to Route 66 one night. Had the pleasure of staying in Barstow on a road trip pre lockdown earlier this year. Not much there. We also passed through Kingman. Mojave Desert is amazing. Drove along side the old Route 66 but did take a right off the newer hwy at one point and stood on Route 66 (as one does!) to take some pics. Historic road to see. The Spiders’ Santa Monica gig is the one for me.
Glastonbury is ace.
I am looking forward to the RSD i’monlydancing(thesoultour74) release.
Though unofficial Bowie’s 50th birthday concert at MSG is very good. Supreme performance. The grainy film of that concert is on YouTube. Highly recommend it. Forum: Tell Me
There is so much on the table right now given the pandemic that the world is facing. New music would be nice. But this is the worst situation that I could have ever imagined in my lifetime. And a live performance, pleased to get back in circulation? I don’t think so. I’d continue to stay safe. And calm. We’ve a ways to go yet. Forum: Tell Me
Re: Ziggy/Spiders not lasting too long “due to the culprits of drugs and fame.”
I took a look back at the book “Strange Fascination” by David Buckley. His take on the infamous Ziggy retirement gig was:
- Bowie was bored and exhausted from months of touring;
- Tony DeFries (Bowie’s manager) wanted to make Bowie (sans Spiders) globally famous;
- Ziggy (the image of) had proved to be too rad Forum: Tell Me
I saw Hunter and Ronson twice, both times in small clubs. At one gig myself and my friend were first in and set up our beers at Mick’s monitor and thereafter didn’t move. What a brilliant night. Could watch him pick out every note above our heads. I wasn’t at the one (link above) but it is a great example of what it was like watching Ronno. Forum: Tell Me

Way prefer the live versions of the tunes from this album I have to say. The soundtrack Spiders from Mars album and a live album from Santa Monica really make the tunes come to life. Mick Ronson was a killer guitar player. Really underrated..
A great collection of songs though....
I bought the Santa Monica bootleg when it came out. 2 UK Pounds at the time. That was a fantastic re Forum: Tell Me
I went down to a market stall in my town in June 1972 and picked the album up. We used to go there after having chips from the chippy for a healthy (!) school lunch and listen to music that she (Joan the Record Lady) would play for us.
Still have my 1972 copy and it still plays great.
Game changer of a record as we all know. Forum: Tell Me
I got some great pic sleeve (the vinyl is pretty well mint) French issues from the 60s amongst some other 45 RPM Stones stuff. Picked them up by sheer fluke a coupla years ago. I just loved the picture sleeves so I bought them. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade

Tom Verlaine - Breakin’ In My Heart
I loved Television’s first album. And this song from Verlaine’s 1st solo album. A very unique guitar sound. Forum: Tell Me
The Pretenders.
Mystery Achievement.
This one brings back memories. I bought the first Pretenders album when it came out. This was in Dundas, Ontario at a lovely small record shop. Played it at my mate’s place that night (Saturday). And we had this song blasting. Forum: Tell Me

"Are you ready, Steve?"
Used to go to nightclubs back in the day and that song would be on. Plus Bowie, Slade, Roxy, and lots of soul. Great times. Forum: Tell Me
Ron, after hearing the ‘Stay With Me’ opening riff in Lewis’s department store in England upon the single’s release - it was a game changer for me! Happy Birthday. Forum: Tell Me
After watching the TV special tonight when Keith Urban did a Stevie Winwood song after The Stones, it reminded me of this morning. I had been driving home down by the river and Arc Of a Diver came on. Hadn’t listened to that one in ages. It’s brilliant. Forum: Tell Me
