QuoteDandelionPowderman Great version! Good to see Keith leading the band in the ending there. If people wonder why they still play BS, just take a look at Keith, and how much he enjoys playing it Agreed, so nice to see Keith really getting into it these past few shows.

Quotecrawdaddy QuoteHMS They dont play clubs anymore, it´s too hot in there. They have always complained about the incredible heat in such small venues. Too dangerous at their age, I think. They could use ventilators on stage but the cool air would make every bone in their bodies hurt like hell the next day. We have to accept that certain things are no longer possible for them. I do agree with

Quotekeefriff99 QuotekeithsmanYes obviously something like that, Mick also. Yes Keith was fueled on a sandwich of drink an coke, that's Rock and Roll, he invented it , he honed it down to perfection and since the bang on the head he had to choose life, so Keith got the best of both worlds and at 76 we can't convincingly say he's paying the price can we, he's still doing his g

Quotemaumau yes on the one side the "BEST SHOW EVER" unobjective response, on the other side the same unbojective response of those who don't want to put the passing of time in their calculations. keithsman, why not compare a clip of SFM from 1972 to last nite opener.? it would be an even easier win than a 1998 JJF. if the conclusion shall be that they should have retired years ago

QuoteHairball A friend of mine who was there (and had been to two previous this tour) told me Ronnie had a bad night without mentioning any specifics... Other than the sometimes spastic and discombobulated solo's of his at every show, anyone notice anything peculiar with Ronnie last night? Yeah i noticed that too but God help anyone who mentions Ronnie having a bad night on here, brave ma

Quotesnorton This is my idea of a R & R club show.... Yeah fantastic, i used to have that years ago, nice to see what they can do in such a small space, love it, Keith and Ronnie reversed rolls since then, Ronnie just clinging on back then.

Quotekeefriff99 Quotemnewman505 Keith never said he stopped drinking completely --- he says he still has a beer from time to time. I'll see if I can find the exact quote. Yes, that is true. I think he's also smoking A LOT of weed...which I couldn't care less about, but I get the impression that that's his big vice now. Unfortunately at nearly 76 years of age, a few cigare

QuoteMacLaurens I thought Keith had stopped drinking. Could be a non-alcoholic beer though. No its a real beer and real cigarettes, hence the lackluster performance, what a relief i thought there was something wrong with him

Quotepowerage78 Well, yes, in 1978... QuoteStonedRambler They're good but you call that rock'n'roll? Then rock'n'roll got very clean Rock'n'roll is supposed to be dirty and nasty Watching that makes me think the Stones last night were more like the Counterfit Stones It was like the Stones were phoning in a copy of a phone in gig doing an impression

Quotecaschimann Quotekeithsman Quotemaumau passive aggressive posting (i.e. deleted post with sneaky hint) is not really nice I can't please all the people all the time. Not trying to be sneaky. Basically Keith's timing is of concern, it's nothing to do with his solos or his fingers. Could be his hearing, who knows, could be something worse. The post was there for 40 minutes

Deleted out of respect for Keith, lets hope these are the last shows so he can retire with most of his dignity intact.

Keithsman Keith probably thought wow we have picked the right guy here, now i can concentrate on nailing that rhythm guitar and do what i do best, and together we forge the best rock and roll band in the world. I have not noticed Keith restricting Taylor with his playing the way he did Ronnie, one reason i don't believe the official reason Taylor left the band, no way was Keith holding him

QuoteKRiffhard There is something disrespectful about it. For those who have been waiting for new material for 15 years and are tired of hearing the millionth live version of Start me up, Brown Sugar, Street Fighting Man ... I would have appreciated that they said: "we are a "live band" and we no longer give a f%$# about recording new material"[/quote] I think t

Another great show, what surprises me with these mini tours playing live a maximum of twice a week, ( 4 days or more between shows ) is that the band do get tighter and better rehearsed. I would imagine sitting around in hotels for four nights or more between gigs would make them rusty if anything.

Quotepmk251 QuoteDandelionPowderman 1969? Keith did the main solos on SFTD (save NYC), HTW, LQ, C, GS, LWM and even on BS. And the solo set on PS and YGM, of course. Pretty even back then The one song that defines the evolution of the band during those 3 short weeks is SFTD. Other than a one off solo by Taylor in Oakland SFTD was strictly a Keith solo, Taylor rhythm affair. Somewhere down

Doesn't Keith come in with an intro when Mick gets too chatty, cuts him off I think talking to an audience is more of an American thing, saw Lionel Richie a few years ago and he talked and talked, he could have sang another half dozen songs for the time he took up chatting. Yeah that's one guy who likes the sound of his own voice. I see Roger and Pete from the Who spend a lot of ti

Quotekeefriff99 Again, nothing to be ashamed of. Ronnie looks great...a bit unnatural given his age, but it's not freakish. I study their faces, can't help it lol, if you look at Ronnie a decade ago he looked like Dot Cotton from Eastenders , now he looks much better, but that might be because he has been sober for years. What is stranger is the physical side to Ronnie, he's

QuoteStonedRambler Can't go to America this year but only judging from Youtube videos I feel like the live sound is a bit different compared to last year. This year's videos sound like it's a bit quieter and cleaner than last year. Also the bass seems to be more audible. The snare drum also seems to be tuned a bit differently - last year is was lower bit a bit of ringing and this

Yes Mick was very warm towards Keith during Rambler the other night, as tactile as I've ever seen him with Keith, these two have definitely settled their differences. Mick loves to see Keith sober and taking care of his playing as opposed to showboating. Mick needs all the backup he can get and all the Stones are supplying it to him in bucket loads. Maybe now Keith has played 4 shows a

QuoteStonesfan2146 OMG I just watched a few videos from that show, I will attend some shows soon and I was just SOO surprised about Micks performance, 2018 saw him struggling with his voice during the last half of the set at a regular basis so I was really worried! But just look at this 3-song featuring video and all your worries are blown away!! How in the world was he able to improve

QuoteTestify Quotekeithsman QuoteTestify Quotekeithsman QuoteHis Majesty QuoteMartinB Do you mean Mick and Keith? Or do you include Charlie, Bill and Ronnie? You seem to want to go deeper, so... Let's look at Ronnie. He had drug and drink problems and as an old man behaved as bad as Brian. Where's the repeated character assassination by Mick and Keith? Ah, there is none.
