I bid on the amp but I didn’t win... just for the adrenaline kick of bidding. The toilet seat cover though will be on display in my museum for all to see and might even make it into the book too!

Hi Skills, I hope you got it too so it can go home to NZ. I was majorly slagged off when I bought the only other decent one to come up for sale which has been on loan to the Stones for 5 years now. It went for the minimum of my expectation ($12,800) but the 2,500 jumps at that level make it hard. You get bid up at 10,000 you have to come back in at 15,000! Ouch. I am please the Goat sweate

Quotesnoopy2 Hey Mattleeuk! I know you're a very serious collector, wondered if I may have been bidding against you yesterday on any of the ticket stubs or brochures from the Brian Jones era? My pockets are not deep (right now) so couldn't compete -- But am writing you cuz if you ever have a small token (preferably a ticket stub) of that era you're willing to part with for a fee,

The cream rises to the top... only got two items so far and nothing that essential. The really good stuff is doing well, missed my favourite item so far, it went for 4.5 times the estimate. Fabulous item, it's Beggars, it's an invite (relevant to the whole concept). This was always going to fly but went higher than even I thought it would. Oh well... the collecting continues Begg

Quotejbwelda What exactly was so special about these? I mean besides being promo items with promo catalogue numbers. There was an "exclusive" track on the four track version I have (no idea how "exclusive" it actually was)...was there something otherwise unobtainium on this five track version? jb It wasn't a promo, It was designed for retail but the rules were change

Even poor condition ones would regularly trade at 200 to 400 UKP in the late 90's early 2000's. It was mainly French dealers that had them because the export ones were sent to France before they were pulled.

The best way to avoid the inevitable is to buy a sealed one. I had a lot of these back in the early 2000’s and virtually all the opened ones had awful looking play surface. I decided to keep a sealed one for myself and I can relax assuming it’s beautiful inside.

Guess what... The description on the Northampton poster (Lot 125) has been updated to declare it’s a reprint, not that there was ever any doubt in my mind.

Quotejbwelda Now I might well bid on that catalogue if it were available. Thats gotta be pretty rare. jb I used to have about 5 or 6 of the brochure! That's a search for another day... I will still have a couple. I own one, technically two Stones pinball machines. I kindly collected and paid for one on behalf of a gentleman in Arizona who had bought it on eBay. I arranged for it to

To be fair Ronnie has been flatter in the past and I prefer this one which is also flat... The others are great... look at the Charlie, his actual scribble! It's the Charlie on that She Was Hot that I can't get my head past.

The Charlie drawing I have is of a drum kit. I love the way he signs CR Watts - (Drummer The Rolling Stones). See below: Would love to see the butterflies one! There are rushed signatures and there are dodgy ones... the autograph has a completely flat bottom like it is signed on an invisible line. As for the Charlie, that really is just a scribble on this one. Now here are som

Quotestargroover I was hoping for some Charlie Watts art amongst the items for sale. Can’t spot any.Is there much of a market for Charlie’s art?Is it sought after by collectors? Charlie has been approached many times to do books etc... with his art but has remained very private about so precious little is available. There were two designs of the Boogie For Stu concert poster one featuring a bea

Quotestargroover Matt you mentioned that 7 inch single given to Bill by a fan.Makes me curious as to Bill’s collection.I know he acquired some stuff from collectors. How can we be sure of the authenticity of some of the items? The autographed items for example? Perhaps you can shed some light upon this? Thanks. You can't be sure... but people will believe because it is Bill's then it mu

Quotestargroover Some of the pictures are inaccurate.Take lot 969 .The blue stage jacket that Bill wears in the picture is not the jacket for sale. The stage jacket has studs and the item for sale has buttons on the shoulders.Yet they claim it’s the same jacket.Makes me wonder what other inaccuracies there are. I spotted at least 20 in under 5 minutes so lots... very typical of auction houses in

Quotemasoudi Matt Lee I’m hoping you aren’t bidding on the NZ poster. I lost out to you years ago on an auction here in NZ. I’ve always wanted that poster due to it personally being so important. I’m hoping your happy with the number of posters of that particular poster you have and will let me have a fair shot at it. I can’t compete with the level some people will pay. I’ve spent 30 plus years j

Quotestargroover Matt have you actually examined that poster? Only the image which too small to be conclusive, but Bill did admit to me he didn't get any posters at the time so circumstantially it would appear very unlikely to be the original given he has never wanted to spend money on them. My suspicions are also elevated by the very modest estimate compare with the other 60 poster or ind

It’s an old reprint and very well done. Only very careful magnified inspection shows the difference any only a few are expert enough to tell the difference. This isn’t like the common German 65 reprints I can tell from 10 feet away. The reprint itself is very convincing and not common. Given people pay $300 to $500 for a very common Winterland 72 reprint then this must be worth $500 to $800 es

QuoteMisterDDDD Have a feeling most items in this sale will exceed auction estimates.. This poster from Northampton '65 already has more than doubled the high estimate of $700 with a current bid of $1500(US) Very cool poster though.. This is almost certainly not the original poster. It will be the reprint done by Record Collector magazine many years ago. Bill admitted to me he d

From the Press Release: "The store will also introduce ‘Stones Red,’ the official colour from Pantone which is established from the first use of the band’s iconic logo. A collection celebrating the Rolling Stones official Pantone colour will also launch with the store." A few of you may know this but I am also a Pantone collector! See my Christmas tree below. Has Bill lost that much relevance that no one cares or is everyone holding their cards close to their chest. It's funny to see lot 14 and 15... I commissioned Philip to sign 125 pairs of two pictures as an affordable or trade item and I gifted the pair to Bill.

Quoteslewan right. But the problem is that nobody is able to tell if there's a market for item that have basically a symbolic value. A Stones T-Shirt is maybe $40 (already overprized) but if it was worn by Jagger it might fetch $500… Beside that – who's gonna remember Bill Wyman (outside the Stones community)? He's surely not Elvis nor Jagger nor Richards. Beside that there's

Quoteslewan he's just doing what we all will do in the future: sell our collection as long as there's a market for it. Within 10 (or maybe 20) years most Stones fans will die and their collections will be sold by their children – the market will be flooded and prices will drop sharply. I both agree and disagree, it depends on the item. Yes Elvis records worth $50 are now $5 but an E

QuoteCaptainCorella Quotetimbernardis I think Matt Lee should make Bill an offer he can't refuse. That, or just buy it all for his Stones museum. That way, all of us could see and enjoy it. plexi I'd be more than impressed if Matt's pockets are deep enough to buy the lot - some of those estimates are gigantic! Perhaps we should crowd fund a package to to buy if for IORR
