Time they got an independent producer to sort through this stuff, select the best songs and finish those. Too much stuffing around and not enough objectivity. Forum: Tell Me
Cannot possibly see how this concert will go on.
Of course they will wait until closer to the show to make the call.
I wouldn't expect the show to be rescheduled - they will be out of there before Dorian hits.
Hope everyone is safe. Forum: Tell Me
Taylor never saw the Stones as a band that he would be in forever.
He left when he felt he needed to. A huge loss to the Stones.
A great guitarist at his peak - better than Clapton, Page and Beck.
Hope he is doing okay. Forum: Tell Me
My interpretation of BV's post - rehearsing some the new songs (that are being recorded) which they may play at the opening concert of the tour. Forum: Tell Me
A better option for their stale setlist would be pick 1 to keep and drop the rest.
So many of their songs are tired and the whole setlist needs a major shakeup. Forum: Tell Me
They could play a couple of songs off the new album on tour even if they haven't been released yet. That would be cool and a big surprise for fans. Forum: Tell Me
My guess is that they have got the guts of an album down and will pick up after the tour (track selection, finishing touches and mixing) with the new album released at end of year.
Don't think anything will be released before then. Forum: Tell Me
Way too much pressure on Jagger and Richards to produce a "classic" new album of original material.
If they are serious then they really need to get into a studio as a band for 2 or 3 months instead of continuing the Endless Tour which has become tedious to me. Forum: Tell Me
Gotta laugh at some of the comments on this site - Ronnie losing his chops - what a load of rubbish. Ronnie is a solid, dependable guitarist - great with Faces and stifled with the Stones.
Keith is the one who has lost his chops. Forum: Tell Me
Bill has a far better feel for rock'n'roll than Darryl will ever have. Darryl was an uninspired replacement choice. The Stones were still a great rock band when Bill was with them. They have slowly morphed into a show band since Bill left.
The Stones were a way better band with Bill than they are today. Forum: Tell Me
They should drop the entire !5 or so songs that have been on the setlist for the past 5 years and plan an entirely new setlist - that would be something. Forum: Tell Me
Not really certain what to think about the prospect of a new album.
Back in 2012 when they first hit the road again I was full of enthusiasm at the thought of new material and interesting setlists for their live performances.
I thought Doom and Gloom was a terrific single, Keith's side less so.
I was happy to see them in Melbourne in 2014 with Mick Taylor in tow and enjoyed the show for w Forum: Tell Me
Best Engineered - Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Black and Blue and Tattoo You.
Worst Engineered - all the albums produced by Don Was (also have the worst mastering). Forum: Tell Me
