QuoteProfessorWolf and if it's 50 snippets they can fits them on one ep As far as I know, the minimal length of a CD track is 4 secs. 50 snippets will thus give us an EP of 03:20 minutes ... That is, 18 years for little more than 3 mins. But who knows, maybe they recorded a 51st snippet, and we get 03:24 minutes ...

A basic track shuffle might be interesting, so you could hear, say, the drums of Song 1 with the vocals of Song 5, the keyboards of Song 3, the bass of Song 11 and the guitars of Songs 2, 13 and 15, resp. Might give you a whole new Stones experience ... (... but what if the tracks all still fit together? )

QuoteBliss Actually, for those in the know, Keith can also be considered a toxic presence in the lives of many of his associates. There is a long trail of corpses behind him, people who thought they could be like him, though they did not have his resources. Gram Parsons, Spanish Tony, Bill German, Freddie Sessler, Johnny Depp, Marshall Chess, Nick Kent, Mick Taylor immediately spring to mind.

Well, if Mick wants a modern-sounding recording, there's a good chance it will be brickwalled-to-hell. - Yet another brick wall problem ... - Although, judging from what I read, the trend to compress the hell out of every recording seems to ebb away, so maybe there's a chance to get a decent-sounding album. We'll find out soon enough (whenever that will be).

I found Hot Stuff rather boring when the album came out, the song never really takes off (despite the nobel-prize-worthy lyrics). Hasn't changed much since.

"A new book about the four women who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help shape and curate the image of The Rolling Stones," if that is really what this book is about, it should also contain a chapter (or two, or three) about Jane Rose.

Quotematxil Hot Stuff 5/10. I am not so fond of funk, and I am not so fond of the Stones trying to play funk. The solo is original I guess but it doesn't move me much. Hand of Fate 7/10. Okay rocker, a bit simple. I think I saw someone say this is a "EOMS-type" rocker. I don't see that. It's much more "one-dimensional" than Rocks Off or Down The Line. It

Quotedrewmaster To tie in with my question in this thread, are we to expect digital recording yet again for their new album, or will they go analog and bring back the glorious sound of albums like ER and TY? Drew I guess that question can only be answered by people who were actually present at the recording sessions. However, considering that this is 2023 (OK, 2021 and 2022 for some of the r

Possibly to show that he still touches a guitar every once in a while - for whatever reason. One might think for showing he's tour-ready, but for that it's a bit (too) little IMHO.

QuoteIrix ... In the end, no one could say for sure whether it had not taken place. No tapes surfaced, though? Another show that, according to some (many? all?), never took place, Grateful Dead's 05/08/77 Cornell show, at least was good for some great tapes!

QuoteNikkei If Keith gives you lemons, you can grow your own lemon tree. If he writes "this is the life" you should take that with a grain of salt. If that makes you think of tequila it's probably a coincidence Meaning, if he gives us some sketches, we can make them into proper songs? Don't we have the IORR band here? Sounds like a job for them lads!

QuoteHairball Quotedoitywoik QuoteHairball I could be wrong, but unless they plan on announcing a tour (which seems slim at this point), I don't think there will be an actual press conference. Maybe they'll flood the various social media sites- twitter, facebook, tik tok, etc., to get the word out, and then maybe release a video of the first single. Then all the press interviews, along

Quotehockenheim95 Quotepftw04 Personally I feel that they would not tour behind the album. It will be like undercover and Dirty work, where they just released the album, but did not tour behind those. With the only difference that if they won't tour behind this album they'll never tour again! I could see them doing short runs on selected occasions, at least for a while (with ticket

A press conference might still be useful for news companies worldwide (TV stations, newspapers, etc.), because then there's something they can officially refer to and also show some pictures. I think the official announcement of a new Stones album is still worth a few lines in papers or mags, and also for a few seconds in a news programme. I guess the target group of a new Stones album is st

I don't think that Dylan depends on money from touring in any way (other than, say, Ronnie). He must have a more than decent income from songwriting royalties alone (his own albums as well as hundreds of covers by others). The Dead have always been famous for never playing the same set list (and - the jamming factor - never playing a song the same way twice), that's what made people

QuoteStoneage The way I see it the album is already in the can. Hence the photoshoot. Which signals an autumn release to me. What is left is sales work, packaging and distribution I guess. But, of course, that may not be the case at all? Album in a can? We've had that already ...

I haven't given up yet on (some) more new music. Also depends on how many songs they actually recorded over the past eight (?) years, and in what "condition" they might be (i.e., produced like ready for release, only in need of finishing touches, mere sketches, etc.). Can't be they spent almost a decade and came up with only 10-12 songs.

Depends on the respective individual(s). American composer Elliott Carter (1908-2012) stayed super-active composing new stuff even in his eleventh decade. Also Picasso kept painting frantically until his death. Also Clint Eastwood doesn't really seem to tire. Others may call it a day a bit earlier (or, depending on their health, may be forced to). It is certainly true that doing some stud

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotetreaclefingers You know I just realized something. The last time the Rolling Stones released an album of new material I was relatively young...and had no children. It was literally a generation ago. It was as long a time as the time between Come On and Start Me Up. Egad! Well, ha ha, guess what!!!??? The only difference between us and the Beatles is that w
