My thoughts exactly about how lucky I was to have seen the Stones and Macca deliver incredible performances this year. Sir Paul seemed to be even perkier than than the last time I saw him at the London O2, All the old film footage and images made a very poignant backdrop, especially for the tributes paid to George and John. Today's media reviews are invariably ecstatic and rightly so.

By some miracle, I did score a ticket in the presale in block A2. But these tactics are par for the course and a total insult to genuine fans.I can't think of a large venue that doesn't invariably try it on with the hospitality packages, which then get dismantled and put on sale at "normal" prices as the date approaches. And unfortunately, it seems that artists are (perha

Quotefrankotero QuoteRollingFreak Is that a controversial opinion? I still remember a time here on IORR when I mentioned anything about The Beatles I would get seriously blasted. But no, I'm not trying to be controversial. By the way I agree about your comments of Mick's value, I couldn't describe it that well myself. Ditto. And even Mick himself has said that he doesn'

Thanks for sharing this, bbj. That is a good read and also gives us promising news for 2025. I'll be all ears for news of The Who's next appearance. I went to the studio launch and Pete's accompanying talk, which was terrific. The studio was impressive and I can only imagine what joy it must give to those fortunate enough to be able to use it. Pete surely merits his new positio

I don't know about Keith but I did see Nigel Havers looking happy during the interval last night, which was press night and a full house, It would be interesting to learn what his take on the play was. Initially, I thought that we might be in for a long night but the play soon morphed for me into a good piece of entertainment as the characters and story evolved. It was quite cleverly done

QuoteStonesdude Quotejana Quotesjs12 London is a big city and the Stones are a big draw. What's more when the Stones play London people come from all over the world. London always has multiple stadium touring bands visit each and every year. Of course the Stones can sell out 2 nights or more in a London stadium next year or any other year for that matter. Exactly. If they play London, I wa

I could perhaps suspend my disbelief over the supposed lookalikes in the cases of Mick and Marianne, but only just. Never for a moment would I recognize "Keith" - and even less so George Harrison (see pic via the link below). Maybe I'll be proved wrong when I see them in the flesh.

Any artist can opt out of dynamic pricing, which it seems that Bros. Gallagher did not. So much for their words of apparent sympathy with fans faced with price-gouging. All the public outrage around the Oasis ticket fiasco is astonishing in the sense that dynamic pricing and all the rest of it is absolutely nothing new and has been going on forever, as everyone here knows all too well, yet eve

I'm with ChrisL on loving your blog and photos, though how you have the energy for it after a day's heavy cycling I really don't know! That was also a nice shout-out for Gazza yesterday. Having never been to Ireland, seeing the Irish and English together on the signposts is gradually demystifying for me some of the vowel pronunciations heard in English spoken with certain Irish

I learned the other day that there are now some smaller festivals in the UK where the only bands playing are tribute bands. Ticket buyers said that they had a great day out at a fraction of the price they'd pay to hear the real thing (cited as a major plus for families in particular) and that some of the bands were so well oiled through regular playing that they could actually be better than
