The REFUND for my Hanging Rock tickets has hit my credit card account overnight. (Slightly strangely, it's dated 14th November and today's the 18th (where I am anyway. I know it wasn't there before this morning because - for cashflow reasons - I'm checking my Credit Card balance pretty carefully on at least a twice daily basis). Anyway... money has been refunded.

QuoteIrix I hope they haven't read my Post - we should buy the Lithos, not download. I completely agree. The resolution of the images we're seeing on the web, although lovely, are simply useless if printed out on any scale up. And... point me to where I can buy a Hanging Rock poster (or two) and my money is all theirs!!

QuoteOneHit No song vote yet?? Paperwork probably got mixed up with Obama's luggage when the president flew out and The Rolling Stones flew in at about the same time!

Quotestonesrule I only use a cell when I travel...Is this a bad thing? It's important that we remember that this is the Charlie Watts' option! I too do not use a mobile phone, other than as a very basic contact/emergency thing when I'm out of the house. My desktop computer still provides as much functionality and connectivity as I need (and far more processing power and

QuoteNaturalust Got it! Much thanks Cap't. Not sure what was more amusing the Ellen spoof or Bill's music video. But, I DO know why I missed it the first time around- I ran the other way when music like this hit my ears. Strangely it's easier to listen to these days, entertaining in a Spinal Tap sort of way. Surprisingly often humour is not international (nor does it always

QuoteNaturalust wtf? I don't get it and I want to, especially seeing how it amused and delighted some of the folks I respect here on IORR. Was that one of Bill's solo tunes? peace That's the main video. There's also quite a nice video (sorry, couldn't find a link) of him doing it on TOTP. "(Si, Si) Je Suis Un Rock Star" was a single Bill released in

Sorry but this does not seem to be the Stones' stage, and the view was available a long time ago GOOD GRIEF! If you hadn't pointed that out I would never, ever, have guessed. QuoteRockman Nice, but the grapes look a bit 2 dimensional though. ....the grapes look like red Smarties I edited that very comparison out of my original posting in the (mistaken?) belief that few would know what Smarties are! And as The Rolling Stones are a UK band (see their Facebook page), I refused to use the M&M analogy.

Quotejammingedward This is not a good sign. The Stones organisation is a well oiled machine and to see the pattern of poster/votes get broken is indeed both odd and concerning. Did I spot an unintended typo there? "The Stones organisation is a well oiled Machine" You omitted the upper case!

No poster and no song vote (yet) is decidedly odd. Maybe it's too complicated to devise a setlist that treats Mick's throat with respect if songs from a song vote are included. Perhaps NONE of the pre-rehearsed songs for the vote are OK on the throat? But this change in the song vote call for votes is a bit odd. I hope it does not foreshadow another problem?

Quotemighty stork Today marks the 40th anniversary of Bill Wyman's solo release. Did you buy it right away and when was the last time you played it? According to 'Rolling With The Stones' it was released on 13th May 1974. So what's the source of the November date?

I really think that some of the postings here in this thread are close to delusional. For whatever reason (and I have more reasons than most to be seriously pissed off about it) they CANCELLED the Hanging Rock show. Very shortly thereafter Ticketek sent out emails about how the money we all paid (almost a year ago now!) was going to be refunded. How on earth can the concert be "unca

For continuity, I thought I'd mention how the weather turned out in Woodend (very close to Hanging Rock) yesterday. At about 4:20pm in Woodend it was about 33C (and it was nice there, we sat in the shade and had a refreshing ice cream). But by 6:00pm it was about 22C, and by Stones Time (8:30pm) it was about 13C. ANd by 10:30 (end time) it was about 11C. Nothing wrong with those tem

QuoteIrix QuoteCaptainCorella Eh? WWW was not invented until 1991/2. The Internet was around, and had been around for some time, but mainly based in Universities (& military). The first proposal of the Hypertext based WWW has been made in March 1989: . The origins of the Internet date back in the 1960s. That's right - I have Sir Tim's book, which I prefer to refer to o

Quotegrzegorz67 Long before the internet became widespread. The World Wide Web, a great BRITISH Invention by Sir Tim Berners Lee, arrived in 1989. I found out the postponement when I arrived in London and parked my car. I had a proper hissy fit, swearing my head off. I'd been a fan since I was 9 or 10 (was 23 at the time) and had waited a long time for it. Still, the show was exce

Probably worth adding that Hanging Rock isn't just a standard arena/stadium where you check if a date is booked, and book it with all of the infrastructure. It's not normally a concert venue, so masses of stuff has to be trucked in just to make it work - ie before any stage/music stuff appears. Toilets, chairs, barricades, generators by the dozen. Assembling that lot, and getting

QuoteEleanor Rigby Cant believe they dont reschedule this gig. What are the reasons? Get out an atlas. Look at the distances between Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and then take into account the distance to New Zealand. Do you think that they didn't bother seeing if it could be done?

Quotewinos Stones have disappeared from the rock before they even got there, that tops the school girls in the book Picnic at Hanging Rock! Nice comment. I was rather hoping that Mick would stop the show at one point, and read out a message asking if anyone had seen Miranda, and if they had could they get in touch with the school in Woodend. More seriously... they really would soften the b

QuoteNiek It's a rough life, there in Australia. Not at all. I'm not worried about Australians - we understand the climate here. But I am very worried about our welcome guests who have come to see The Rolling Stones. I'm worried that someone will hear the headline temperature (30-something) and think that will be set for the day, and will result in a glorious balmy war

Hanging Rock weather The actual weather forecast for Saturday, put out by the Govt's Bureau of Meterology (the one that the media presenters interpret) says... Partly cloudy.
