QuoteChacal QuoteCaptainCorella Hmmm... I'm reasonably confident (but definitely not certain!) that Sherry Daly has worked with The Rolling Stones since the mid-70s at the very least. No. She was hired by Charlie in the 80s - as his secretary. Read Bill German's book 'Under their thumb', I think she's mentioned in there. She was only working for Charlie, not for the

If you knew Bobby well enough for him to do a session on your record, then you must have a contact for his "management". They will surely have a contact for Keith. Ask them?

Quotestonehearted In London, the following year, Eastman traded a print of Brian Jones on the boat for access to the Sergeant Pepper's press release, where Eastman took her first photographs of the Beatles. By chance she had met Paul McCartney, her future husband of 29 years, at the Bag O'Nails pub the previous night. Linda McCartney later concluded that her cruise aboard the Sea Pant

With apologies to "Hound Dog", but this thread should really be titled... Rolling Stones at Hanging Rock. I am sure the band is aware that they have never played at this world famous venue. You think they have any desire to play there, they seem to want to play all the famous venues and cities that they have never done before, I wonder if this venue is on their list. Would be a dr

QuoteRipThisBone This was on Facebook today: "The Rolling Stones played Top Of The Pops on 22nd April 1971, where they performed three songs from Sticky Fingers; Wild Horses, Bitch, and this version of Brown Sugar. Wild Horses and Bitch are missing, have you seen them? We're on the hunt for this classic footage!" The Brown Sugar performance, with Mick in his satin pink sui

(Rockman's images deleted to save bandwidth...) This is, I guess, the interview single with the ill fated Fan Club pack? Also had copies of bits of their passports, and a nice letter from Bill. Am I right?

Think of the Internet as a road system that carries all sorts of vehicles - cars, taxis, buses, trucks. Those are things like email, text, files etc. The World Wide Web is equivale

QuoteIrix QuoteCaptainCorella I got to wondering about the DATE and location of these photo's. Seems to be 3rd May 1976, Berlin, Deutschlandhalle then. RS Tourdates Germany / Austria / german-speaking Switzerland: . Yes. My bad in not spotting that date/venue.

I got to wondering about the DATE and location of these photo's. The original site says... Stones 1975 (oder war es 1976?) in der Berliner Deutschlandhalle Ronnie is in the photo's, so it's not the 1973 tour - where the Berlin show (I was at) was Mick Taylor's final show with The Stones (in that era). They toured North America in June-August 1975, and then UK and

I too attended a show on this tour. Brighton Big Apple. A couple of months prior I'd queued all night on the pavement outside the record shop that was due to sell tickets. The overnighters were fine and behaved well, but there was a bit of a rush and crush when others turned in the morning to buy tickets and tried jumping the queue. No matter, I got my two tickets. (By queuing all nigh

Now that the Tour has (as good as) ended I can reveal that what everyone assumed was the autocue prompting Mick what to sing and what to say, is in fact a live feed from iorr.org Post it here, and Jagger sees it in moments. Hi Mick!

(21st November 2014). There was a memorial service today in Brisbane (less than a week since the Stones played there) for the recently deceased Premier - Wayne Goss. It turns out that he was a Stones' fan. He was described: "Matt Foley, who served in the Goss cabinet and as Mr Goss's best man, said Mr Goss was by nature a shy, sensitive and courageous man who loved music a

QuoteNaturalust His phrase "Talking about music is like dancing about Architecture' had me thinking that Sam must dance to Architecture pretty damn well. peace Sam's attribution to Picasso may be wrong. Wikipedia's version is that Elvis Costello credits Martin Mull with it . More research brings up where the template goes back to 1918. Useful phrase, but its ori

Bono got knighted in 2007, although like Bob he's not entitled to the title of Sir because of his foreign-born status. OK, you can see the not-shark poster at Bravado. This URL should work And to clarify, whoever decided to call it a "Tidal Wave' design is clearly more than a little ignorant of the context. The poster takes a nod towards the main pastime along the coast in that area - and that's SURFING. The wave is not a Tidal Wave (see below) but a surfing break. Duh! Any design that

It may be "Sir" Bob, but (thank the Lord) it's not "Sir" Bono. "Sir" Bob is only "Sir" and not Sir Bob because he's not a Brit. And, as always, "Mr" Bono has snuck in and tried to steal some glory. The moving spirits behind Band Aid were actually Geldof and Midge Ure - a Scotsman.

The REFUND for my Hanging Rock tickets has hit my credit card account overnight. (Slightly strangely, it's dated 14th November and today's the 18th (where I am anyway. I know it wasn't there before this morning because - for cashflow reasons - I'm checking my Credit Card balance pretty carefully on at least a twice daily basis). Anyway... money has been refunded.

QuoteIrix I hope they haven't read my Post - we should buy the Lithos, not download. I completely agree. The resolution of the images we're seeing on the web, although lovely, are simply useless if printed out on any scale up. And... point me to where I can buy a Hanging Rock poster (or two) and my money is all theirs!!
