QuoteRockman THE AUSTRALIAN --------- 29 July 2023 Interesting account of a thoroughly bent copper's impact on the rock scene. I really liked the final sentence... "He was sentenced to four year's jail and was paroled after two but still spent more time in prison than all of his star victims combined". Karma?

Quote24FPS Great. Hope any plaque reads, They went on to join Brian Jones band and became part of the Rolling Stones. Folk may recall that when the plaque on the station was proposed the (then?) Mayor of Dartford (Mr Kite) promised me, in writing, that the text would reflect the above 1000% correct description. We even lined up money to pay for the correction. It was not done. So we can

My personal guess as to the answer to the dilemma about party or parties is to look to the UK Royal Family for the answer. The monarch has an actual birthday, and also has an official birthday. Scholars here are invited to explain why.... but that's how it is. My theory therefore is that the shindig at the night club was to celebrate the actual birthday, and that the rumoured Chelsea

Not unlike the rumoured concert at The Colosseum in Rome in 1969 I had a long planned holiday in Italy at the time, and when the rumours started to flow I called NME to ask them if they knew the facts behind the story they had printed. They, in turn, gave me the office number for The Stones (!) to call and ask. The person I spoke to there was utterly information free. So, we turn up in R

Quotepadre69 Is there any place for non UK citizens to watch these Glastonbury gigs (besides crappy cell phone youtube clips)? That's one crafty network that can tell the citizenship of a viewer! Get out the tinfoil helment! Perchance in place of 'citizen' you meant 'resident'?

QuoteLynd8 Come Back Suzanne! Stumbled across this oldie but goodie Bill Wyman track. Classic 80s LOL Funny that he beat Mick or Keith to a solo LP Suzanne did, of course, eventually, come back and they have lived happily ever after and have 3 daughters.

Quotetommyturbo76 Too many to list But the most memorable to me is an intro about Mao - responsible for 55 million deaths, more than anyone … absolutely a story of power Sorry I can’t recall exact book Are you saying that there's a Stones' book that has an intro that all about Mao? Intriguing!

No-one here is likely to actually KNOW why/how Chris & his partner (or wife?) have got into this apparent mess. I think that the commentary is largely that it seems odd that somehow it has happened. Not least because of this quote ""Government policy states that Norwegians may apply for settled status if they have lived in Britain for at least five years before April 2021 an

Quoteopen-g How long's this brexit thing been going on? ok, let's just say four years, bc easier calculation. So seventy years long, no one batted an eye about her nationality status. but now it's: Show me your Papers! yeah, reminds me of where that's going You missed the point. Central to many of the comments here is the fact that the question of UK residence

On the substance... As others have pointed out, she had 74 yrs or so to sort this out. Plus, as folk in the UK are well aware, Brexit brought this sort of issue very much to the forefront with regards to UK residents living overseas, and/or non-UK citizens living in the UK. So it's not as if it's some highly nuanced rarely publicised quirk of migration laws. Yes, it's a cr

Reality check... This entire latest speculation can be traced back to ONE report in the UK Sun newspaper. A rag sheet tabloid not unlike the Daily Mail. Everyone seems to hope that the 'recording with the Stones' bit was true, and that the 'flying to LA' was improbable. Only time will tell if any of it was true after all.

Quotetommyturbo76 - Bill Wyman's logging pretty much required using early word processors... It may be wise to separate this part of Bill's interest from the other list. It's BILL it's not The Stones. Bill has been at the forefront of using personal desktop computers and claims to have been among the very earliest adopters of Apple computers in the UK. Oddly, his st

QuoteHairball QuoteIrix 13-Jun-2023: Paul McCartney said on BBC Radio 4 that 'new technology' has enabled a 'final' Beatles song which will be released in 2023. The technology had been used to 'extricate' John Lennon's voice from an old demo so he could complete the song. "We just finished it up and it'll be released this year," he explained.

The Beatles had 2 Xmas residencies in London in early 60'a. One compered by Jimmy Saville, the other by Rolf Harris. Both later found d to be child sex offenders. Rolf's death in the last few days means that both are history. Unfortunatel coincidence.
