QuoteWuudy Wow, who made that call and where did you read that? It's not in print (yet), although Bobby's children might go public at some point. Right now they are grieving the loss and feeling very upset that they didn't get a chance to say goodbye. BK's service took place only 72 hours after he died. His children had to learn of his death from media reports and the detai

Bobby's real (biological) children and his only grandchild were excluded from the funeral. It's not what he would have wanted.

QuoteBliss I wouldn't be surprised if it was Ronnie who was the driving force behind MT's presence. They are good friends, they have performed together a mumber of times. There are backstage photos of them showing Ronnie with his arm around MT, not staged publicity photos. Ronnie thinks more about his image than you might realise. He (his team) are very active on social media. If h

QuoteDoomandGloom Here's an educated long shot guess. Perhaps Matt and Tim will be handling the keyboard role for a few shows so Chuck can attend the final performances of The Allman Brothers in NYC, Oct. 24th till the 28th. Chuck has been inducted as an Allman in the rock and roll hall of fame and was a huge part of the band while a member, it's not impossible that The Glimmers would

QuoteSonicDreamer MT may sound cool, but let's face it in the visual appeal stakes he ain't got the allure of a smokin' hot backing singer broad. Cheers, SonicD That overdramatic yet predictable catwalk cameo of a backing singer has been leaving quite a number of customers dissatisfied, or so I've heard.

Quotestonehearted <<stu wasn't a crybaby and his attitude was>> You make it sound like Stu was perfectly happy to be shoved to the sidelines, as if it were what he should have been expecting from life. Read Phelge's Stones. He was in the room with the Stones and Stu the day he was handed the news that he was out of the band. He was stoic about it for the most part, and

Quotelem motlow where did i say anything about a law forbiding a band member from leaving a band or that mick taylor was the only person to ever leave a band?? Well you're the one that made it sound like Taylor committed a capital crime by leaving the band. Are you equally judgemental about everyone that's ever had the audacity to change course in their musical career ? If not, then

Lem motlow: The Rolling Stones owe Mick Taylor big time. There are no laws forbidding musicians to leave a band and Taylor is not the only person in history that did so. However, there are legal rules and regulations pertaining to the rights an official bandmember has to be paid royalties over the records he helped to create. Whether someone leaves or not has no bearing on this entitlement.

QuoteLookoutMountain Was Ian Stewart an "introverted Englishman" ? I thought he was a Scotsman. Ok strictly speaking I should have written British, because he was born in Scotland. However he was raised in Sutton, Surrey and I was referring to the way British people of that generation generally deal with talking about emotions/feelings and how that would have been the norm to him b

QuoteAquamarine I have no personal insights here, but everything I've read over many years has supported the view that Stu was treated fairly. And I don't see any resentment on his part in that article. I don't really understand where the assumption they DIDN'T do right by him comes from, to be honest. Everything you're read, such as... ? He says in that interview

Since I don't know your identity, I can't fathom the depth of your connection with him or say how likely he was to share his innermost thoughts with you. He seemed to be the kind of man who wouldn't dish the dirt in public (or to a journalist), as a matter of principle. What does that entail, 'his relationship with the Stones after his death' ? Not many people are a

Quotestonesrule Stu was a real person. He wouldn't like being called a legend or having his finances discussed with strangers on a website. The Stones did right by him. You seem to have an awful lot of faith in the Rolling Stones... I can't think of a reason why, really. Note what Ian Stewart said (in his interview with Bill German) about the early days and about Andrew Loog

hot stuff: I would not say that all of the Rolling Stones are in excellent or even good health. The last US tour they did comprised 18 dates. And by any standard, that's not a very long tour. The only reason it took 2 months to complete is that there were 2 - 4 days of rest and relaxation between all gigs. Taylor used to do 30 shows in 5 weeks time. It's possible that his tours hav

Seasoned musicians usually claim that it doesn't matter much whether you play in front of 200 or 20.000 people. The thing is, you can't put on 'half a show' just because the audience is smaller. So apart from the fact that a bigger production means there is more staff and overhead involved, what you do as a guitarplayer (for instance) is basically the same: play to the best

Quotehot stuff One thing to think about is that Keith and Woodie have been touring and recording 10,000+ more shows over the past 40 years then Mick. And they both have traveled the world many times over working very hard making rock and roll. Mick I'm sure is excited to play. Play anything. He never has had the schedule that Keith or Ronnie had to keep and I'm sure he just wants

QuoteLOGIE As brilliant as Mick Taylor was with the Stones however, it could reasonably be argued that had he remained with the band, his virtuoso style of playing might have actually hindered their progression towards formulating their more consumer-friendly, one-size-fits-all stage production that we still see today. Conversely, it could be contested that in choosing to venture down such a road
