Richards and Taylor were great on this tour, Keith's power of JJF and SFM was insane. Mick T's leads were brilliant and not overplayed like he did on later tours sometimes.

Quotetatters It's only gonna cost Johnny $8 million? Wow. That's some friendship. Well to be fair I think Keith is the only Stone that is friends with him

I think they were the first to broadcast a live concert over the internet back in 94. I think it was only about 10 mins worth though.

for me it was 1989 Steel Wheels, I mean the playing of the band was very good in fact they sounded too clean and polished for me, this was the only tour I would call 'Vegas' . I know alot of people will disagree with me and I admit the musicianship was far better than later tours but somehow it sounded bland to my ears.

Quoterob51 Very true mesfdouglas although I had to give them credit in 1981 for having J.Geils open for them. They blew the Stones right off the stage however so maybe that wasn't such a good idea? Eddie Money was properly overshadowed. This thread just gets sillier, I don't know what show you saw in 81 but in candlestik park, the reaction to the J.Giels band ranged from disintrest

Quotejamesfdouglas The Stones simply don't fit into the calibre of many of these bands listed. They're better off in their own 'artistic isolation' that they've always had around them. For sheer musical (performing/writing/innovativeness) skill they can't compare to The Band, The Who, Hendrix, etc. They need to surraound themselves with lesser artists to shine, or no

Well I am one of the people that hates SW, to me this is their worst album, when it came out I really wanted to like it I mean I had thought the Stones were pretty much dead after the Jagger/Richard fueding that went on in the 80's, I had always thought that Dirty Work was not good due to the fued and was hopeful that Steel Wheels would have been a return to form as I always really liked Und

QuoteMax'sKansasCity Quoteshadooby Obama thinks the Redskins name is offensive and should be changed... Now I've seen it all. My grandmother was Irish, I'm offended, Notre Dame should change their name too. What about those Cowboys down there in Texas? I'm sure there are some descendants of the Vikings on here...what a travesty. My great great great great granpappy

what the world doesn't need is another "talent" show winner making formulated and souless music anymore! Look the Stones are most likley not going to record a classic album that will be listned to for decades like thier best work but I still think they can nake good rock and roll, a bit of a dying art these days.

I think it is Underrated, Cherry Oh Baby is the only bad song on it. I think Hot Stuff,Hand of Fate, Memory Motel and Hey Negrita are all standouts. Nowhere near as good as Some Girls but better then GHS and IORR in my opinion.

Quotemr_dja Somehow I can't see Mick leaving the Stones to become Bowie's opening act. Although I can see a big demand for a Bowie tour, I have a feeling that a solo Jagger tour would be met with rousing rounds of indifference. Peace, Mr DJA Agreed, Bowie does not really need Jagger to sell tickets. I think a Mick solo tour would only be intresting if he did covers mixed in wit

Quote24FPS Steel Wheels was the last great album before the 'retros' set in and practically everything was looking backward. (except for the dated experiments on Bridges). So, if the question if When will The Stones release a new album? The could be 'why'? god almighty I could not disagree more, steel wheels is the only album they have done that is completely unlistenab
