The good stuff always stands the test of time & in many cases actually gets better with age like fine wine. Why I don't think they (Mick) should worry about being "hip". I don't think the Stones are in any danger of having to hit the Native American casino circuit anytime soon like so many of their contemporaries have. I do admit I would enjoy seeing commercials every inni

The version of Dancing with Mr D on Brussels Affair seriously brings the funk! "drinkin' belladonna on Toussaint night...". Indeed.

Keith is the Stones! Actually if Keith, Charlie or Mick quit its done for me. You got it right with "unpopular opinion". Mind boggling.

I was lucky enough to see a club show on 40 Licks in Vegas. Whilst it was a one of a kind experience, they were actually better the next night in an arena.

Would be much more excited about a Keith solo record. Both of those have aged well.

On ABB, stadiums didn't seem to be any less expensive. If you want to see the band well. I vote arenas for audio reasons. I will admit that the sound in the last stadium show I saw was superb but I live in Seattle & our football stadium was designed with sound as a major factor. Not many are. U2 played there & it was by far the best stadium show I've ever seen for both sound &am

ER was the low point of the show I saw (Vegas). I will admit that I have never been fond of that song. I actually like that album except for that song. Band seemed bored playing it except for Daryl, who got to step out. Seems campy & weak to me. Just my opinion. I'm sure there are folks that like it.

Has anyone seen Ian play recently? He is playing at a really nice club in Seattle next weekend & I was wondering if it was worth the effort.

Duff MacKagen (GnR, etc.) recently wrote about a charming European festival tradition of throwing bottled urine at the bands. Any of that yesterday or @ Glastonbury? I imagine Mick would tend to frown on that though one never knows...

He did that stunt with a guy @ the show I saw in Seattle. Said that's what he gets for filming with an I-phone. Very funny!

I'll have to check it out. Although it was a little spacey, I enjoyed Neil Young's autobiography. I thought Pete Townshend's (& I love Pete) was a little whiney but I guess thats Pete. I think (besides Keith's), I enjoyed Rod Stewart's book the most. Was a fun read.

QuoteMunichhilton Poor Bernie. He deserves better then to be Feldered by Henley... I watched the documentary. I always thought Henley was the primadonna. After watching the history, I'm convinced Glenn Frey is the real villian. Seems like a total @#$hole. Their manager is no prize either.

Amongst other things. I believe he opened for the Stones in Detroit Enormo Dome on the 1981 tour. He came out in a skirt & was pelted by the spuds. I think Keith likes him & helped get him (deservedly) in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, Ron Asheton passed away shortly before that happened. I was fortunate enough to see the Stooges with him twice when they reformed. Mighty

I saw them in 1978 2 days before the dvd was filmed in Boulder, CO. My 1st Stones show & it was pretty much life changing. That dvd is excellent. I think 1981 was when Mick's ego started to go into overdrive. Watch Let's Spend the Night Together & check out the scoreboard: Mick Jagger & the Rolling Stones. I saw 2 shows that tour & whilst good, they weren't up to th

QuoteGravityBoy This is just one of the greatest moments in rock. Truly magnificent. Hat's off to the girl for going along with the ride. "Here come the devil" and right on cue up pops an angel of light. Jeeze... shiver time. I watched the set last night. Totally amazing. Mumford & whatever must have seemed pretty pasty after that!
