Just a few months earlier, in May 1977, I saw Elvis in my hometown playing at the same venue- the Rochester Community War Memorial. I read some advanced reviews of this book over the last couple days that weren't very favorable. Looks like a hit piece focusing on excess & scandals. Sadly, because of the subject matter, it will probably be a good seller (LOL)!

As a long time Rolling Stones fan who has been extremely fortunate to catch this band since the 1970's, you can't expect these guys to be as vital as they were in their prime. That ship has sailed. However, for what the three principals are able to deliver being near 80 years old, that is quite extraordinary (IMHO- I do have to add that if the extra support players they have utilized si

The Stones 60th Anniversary European Tour is coming to a close with Stockholm and Berlin left on the calendar. Celebrate their 60th year as a working band and support our petition to release what is arguably one of the Stones finest moments in concert (and long overdue): the COMPLETE MSG 69 recordings. Thank you all on this Stones board for all your efforts in supporting and publicizing

QuoteTopi QuoteTheGreek Not a fan of Ticketmaster at all , but they are the scape goat in this as this was all designed and signed off by Bruce . Proof is in the silence from Bruce . Why not set the record straight and own up to it . Bruce could have a top 10 list of reasons why he is doing this . Or is he staying silent in anticipation of the tour star

From my perspective, Mick does not "hate" the past. He may pretend that he is disinterested or feign disinterest at times (like during some interviews I've seen), but he makes too much cash per live performances to really "hate" the past....

"Well all right!" Let's get these signatures to 1500! PS- If anybody on this site is going to any of the upcoming shows, while you are sitting in your seats, waiting for the boyz to come on, direct your friends, neighbors, etc to our petition site on their phones.

Really nice job on Out of Time per the video. Sounded great for a first night run. Hoping it will continue to be played as the tour progresses. Over time, I can imagine that it will sound even better, (and as Palace Revolution referenced above), and grow as a great audience sing along.

QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack Bit slow in the beginning and the end of season 5 was on par with Breaking Bad. Season 6 is too slow for me. Going to watch the new episode in an hour. It's cool but it it's just way to slow. Not on the same level as Breaking Bad by far. That one got me on the edge every episode (after the slow season 1). I hated waiting a week and would watch the new episod

Quote24FPS It used to be that the Stones would take a blues song and put on their special filter. It would come out sounding just as good as the original, but different. Not quite as ragged, but still retaining the life of the song. Think 'Little Red Rooster'. Uptown, as opposed to country. On Blue and Lonesome they hew closer to the originals, without losing anything. This is under

Don't know how many people on this site watch this show, but OMG, the midseason finale rocked my world! Can't believe I have to wait until July until this returns. It really is a slow burn. After a slow start, this series picked up steam and gotten better over time. Overall, the writing, acting/character development, directing, story-lines, cinematography, and production make for riveti

I would suggest putting on the Stones most recent studio album (either on your turntable or CD player) of Blue & Lonesome as a good starting point in answering that question...

Really nice to see overwhelming positive reviews of the El Mocambo shows. So far, since its release last week, these are all the reviews that have appeared on my phone (like a lot of fans, I get Rolling Stones content sent to me of some kind or another almost daily): Note to Stones: Keep these vault releases coming! We like it!

My favorite studio album of the Stones and my pick if I had to be stranded on a desert island. I remember seeing the album in the record bin at my local retail store and I was so captivated with that cover that I had to buy this album. It so funny how Exile's reputation has grown over the years because initial reviews were very mixed. Exile is like a fine wine that gets better over time.

My local record store was kind enough to sell me El Mocambo a day early. Just got through listening to all of it and have to ask- why did it take so long to release this show? One could certainly argue that this whole show should have been released (as a stand alone) rather than attach the 4 tracks to side 3 of Love You Live (because of that, the original album never quite flowed for me). The

New Orleans, and the Jersey show "Welcome to the Voodoo Lounge" Godfather release (part of the show ended up on the 90 minute video). I like the set list from Jersey, although the performance is sloppy in spots, but still good for an early show.

Quotedcba QuoteHonestman The studio version is priceless. From the very start, it almost sound live. To me it doesn't sound live at all which means huge and powerful. The LIB version sounds claustrophobic and twisted which adds to its nasty charm. And overall LIB is a claustrophobic, twisted album, unlike BB. Only at the very end with "You Can't..." that you get to a glim

I much prefer the live version of Rambler, but not the one that ended up on Ya Yas (or Hot Rocks). I would trade that version (11/28/69) for a great sounding one from the day before on 11/27.

However, I could use a little direction from some folks on this site. After several weeks Change. Org finally got back to me with an answer to a question I posed to t
