QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteSighunt Here's an article from Yahoo Sports re: the Five Olympic skiers who were disqualified for baggy outfits. The interesting thing is that the suits these jumpers were wearing had apparently been cleared in earlier jump outings. If they drink or eat too little their suits won't meet the requirements. How crazy and/or OCD is that?

QuoteRocktiludrop I remember an article in a British tabloid promoting his book on Keith where he mentions Keith threatening him with a gun and asking him not to released the book. It was a great book if you haven't read it but very unflattering towards Keith, but I kind of loved all that, just makes it more incredible that Keith is still with us today. When I first got into the Stones

I've always had mixed feelings about the 75-76 tour. For me, it was Jagger's singing and phraseology that got in the way of enjoying recordings of those shows, which IMHO got progressively worse as the tour progressed (given a variety of bootleg recordings I have heard over the years). Probably, the one show I consistently come back to as a representative sample of a good 75 show th

QuoteRank Stranger Thanks for the hint. Although I don't expect much I would love to hear this boot, as I am somewhat crazy about the 1969 tour. Hope somebody will share this someday. ....you and me both! Wouldn't it be fantastic if the Stones and Abkco got together for the 60th anniversary and released a boxed set of those 69 MSG shows? This is a great thread! Lots of great thoughts... Do I have anything new to add? Not really. All the great minds have pontificated and spoken. Seems like the well has run dry (get it?) Seriously...I think the answer to why the well has run dry is not that complicated. Mick and Keith grew up and developed separate lives. Raised families, lived in different communities, don't spend the q

QuoteMore Hot Rocks I agree. They should be. Well the Wrecking Crew did most of the music ….and they did also for The Mamas and Papas and they are in. So people can’t use that argument. Speaking of the Wrecking Crew, several years ago I finally caught the documentary directed by the son of guitarist Tommy Tedesco which highlights the work of these great, unsung session players and how influenti

All this religion that everyone suddenly got...this overnight awareness of what a significant artist Mike was the day after he died is too little, too late. For me, I have always appreciated how talented Mike was as an artist. It was his recent demise that was the la

I'm going out on a limb here. But with the passing of Mike Nesmith this year, I've slowly evolved and come around to a thought that was previously unthinkable by me. I think that it is about time that the Monkees be considered for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some people may even argue its a debate not worth discussing (given that some believe) that the R & R Hall

Quoteloog droog QuoteBig Al Rest in peace, Michael Nesmith. A sad day passing for popular music. The Monkees recorded the most infectious, feel-good pop music; and Mike Nesmith was an instrumental component to that. I only know their hits, but their albums I’ve often considered exploring further. I do know that their third long-player, Headquarters, saw them branching-out and playing their own

I am happy there was a tribute to Charlie. Unless people from this forum were actually there and in the room, I think it is pointless to speculate about who was invited or who should have been invited. I can only imagine that Charlie's family must be extremely grateful and overwhelmed by all the support and well wishes they have received since his death. As a long time Stones fan, the world
