I find this all so ironic...the man that once foisted @#$%& Blues, the song an the movie, as art has hit the roof over his daughter posing naked. More proof that the Stones are entertainent and nothing more, they are not social avatars or revolutionaries. And anyone that thinks it is just Mick and that Keith as the rebel would think it was cool for his daughters is just fooling themselves.

OMG MCDDTLC and NO ONE in the group could play with Vibrato...how in the hell did they do it? If only they would have had the sense of you and Open G, they would have hired Taylor, maybe then they would have finally been able to produce art and have survived instead of gasping out with the Last Waltz! LOL seriously, the band never got the credit from the public it deserved, it should have been

During the Licks tour I avoided buying the tour pacakges I saw that got you a room and tickets to the stadium, arena and theater shows in a single town. I thought/think that the prices were outlandish. They probably will be again. Now of course, reviewing what I often paid to ticket brokers, e-bay hawkers, etc for theater shows and good seats at the arenas and theaters,in retrospect I have to

Keith has always draped himself and his hotel rooms in scarves LOL. Certainly you cannot buy into the rough and ready fashion of 78 as anything but a bow to the punk fashion trend of the times. For the sake of reality, he is an entertainer doing whatever he can to appeal to millions. That B2B ankle length animal print coat with sunglasses ( in the dark) , was thatr less Hollywood? Keith has ca

Finally after all this time, a post from OpenG comes in that I can fully endorse! Total agreement and happiness...please let it be true... "....VIBRATO... I GIVE UP..." Don't back down from your convictions man, hold strong! You cannot convert us pagans anyway. And I for one will go home and listen to CYMK and TWFNO over and over and be able to completely enjoy them wit

As always, I bow in deference to MT and his ability and Thank God on a daily basis (or at least whenever Open G posts) I can appreciate more aspects to his playing than that single dimension of VIBRATO! Howvever, for me, with the Stones, it has always been about the songs, as Keith as claimed, and not the solos. Now there is a song here and there, CYHMK for instance, or TWFNO, when the solo mak

Since Broken English I have been a fan. I think the new CD is great. Kissin' Time was a pleasant surprise, and that haggard voice closing the CD with Somethin' Good was just such a great conflict in content ( bubblegum pop) and presentation (that voice) , I had to listen over and over. I do agree that Times Square on Blazing Aawy is just a tremendously poqwerful and haunting piece, &quo

Marcia, News on Pittsburg is at the Link below. A radios stations says the Stones are going to play at PNC Park on Tuesday September 13. And hey Shattered, the Coliseum? In Fort Wayne Indiana where I grew up LOL? Do you have date to go with the venue?

I know nothing is confirmed. Probability has Fenway as an opener in late August, Ronnie is saying September, rumours abound about Pittsburg, and everyone is convinced that Soldier's Field is in the mix. My question is with so much being leaked, has anything surfaced about approximate dates for either Chicago or Detroit? I need nothig exact, LOL, but I live in the definition of Bumfuckia o

OMG this is a worse case scenario here with this thread. I worked for a few years in Hawaii at a resort town on the Big Island at a walk in clinic. I met a handful of famous people that way, but because of confidentiality I cannot give ANY names. They ranged in extremes. One TV personality was very nice, came to my house a few times, and we have written. Another, a fading Hollywood star, was a re

I agree T&A, unliek what they have done with other well known RNR, I thought they savaged Chantilly Lace, making it at once unrecognizable and unlikeale. I searced long and hard for this, especailly after the revelation of Hound Dog on Handsome Girls that redefined the song for me. Ultimately, it was a disappointment.

It is ironic that one of the Glimmer Twins , MJ, has stated that he would re-mix the sound for EOMS, the Holy GRail of Stones music. Of course life and THIS BOARD is full of ironies, lets see; 1) Mathijs and Flip the Switch has prpobably played to audiences as big OR BIGGER than the VIBRATO KING MT in the last 5 years ( chew on that Open G). 2)No one on this board is any where near as succ

I must be missing something becuase I have just never been that impressed with the slide work on No Expectations. I mean it fits, it is nice, but I just cannot see it as such an instrumental masterpiece and demonstration of guitar prowess. Yet I hear it mentioned over and over as such a masterpiece, almost as often as I hear about MT's VIBRATO. I think Brian's earlier guitar work was mu

I have never been afraid to admire what work MT did with the Stones, tho I have been willing to enjoy the work they have done without him, unlike some. However, Open G, only you have made me come to hate an abstract term. I nearly puke now everytime you fawn over VIBRATO!!! If that was all that MT had going for him, none of us would remember him. For Christ's sake find a new way to pay yo

Amen to all of that!!! I have often felt that the problem at times stemmed from the fans being forced to face their own aging and mortality! And all the crap about money grubbing should only be allowed by people who have only neither had or refused every raise since 1970. Oh Hell yeah I would like to see cheap tickets...and lower medical bills, less taxes and bread for a nickel a loaf. The

To tell the truth I just listened to the boot of the entire Sarstock perfromance, and I am not impressed with Keith at all that night. So he does have his off nights. I have to say when Ron of late has been more in the "spotlight" with his guest spots, he does a a lot better when he cannot hide. I love his work on the Corrs live album from a few years back. Come to think of it, I guess

Hmmm StonesTod, having seen several Licks shows on various continents and listening to a crap load of boots I agree and diagree with you. He did not completely deteriorate on Europe. As the tour progresses I think he became less consistent. For instance, I think his playing in the early theater shows was better than any but one or two of the European theater shows, but then he hit spot on at Utr

Well Open G , I am finally glad to see you use the three letters "IMO," because it finally shows an understaniding of the truth, it all honestly boils down to opinion. I think that you will find many of us here agree that the work done with the Stones by MT was nothing short of brilliant. However, you are at a Stones sight, not a MT sight, so no matter how hard you preach, you will not

The stuff about Ron's involvement in the past is true; with dirty work Keith and Ronnie did much of the work without MJ. In the past ronnie was often much more invloved. Still I totally expect he will be there on the tour and see this (maybe naively) as an effort of Mick and Keith to try and re-capture the old Jagger/Richards magic. Maybe, as they have said, this time the Glimmers are reall

I wondered why they went to Comisky for Licks. I agree though that it was a horrible venue.

I do question when they plan to involve Ronnie. His total absence is a bit strange, though maybe a good sign. NOW WAIT ALL OF YOU THAT SEE SIGHNS OF MT striding down the halls, what I mean is maybe that Keith and MJ are more aggresively writing together than they have been in a long time. I do not forsee any other guitarist then Wood oppopsite Richards on stage.

It is hard to imagine, but U2 has only reached the careeer length that the Stones had around the 81-82 tour. Will they last another 20 years? I cannot imagine it, and yet I see no signs of strife within the group. If they last another twenty years what will be their legacy? At what level can they continue this seeing that really with evry progressive tour they appear to get bigger? I do not want

My memorey of the guitar sound on 81 is not as fond as what happend in 78. At least in 78 you could tell what Kieth is playing and what Ronnie plays. In 81, with a few wonderful exceptions, it was almost this monolithic noise that assulted the senses rather than the distinct sound of two guitarists. I still enjoyed the shows, but more for the sake of event than anything musical.

See the whoe thing about this that does not ring true is the picture of John as a victim of Yoko. Yoko got away with nothing that John did not allow, When Yoko followed John into the men's room, it appealed to his sense of the bizarre and in your face need to challenge the status quo as it did hers. If anyone thinks that she went into the bathroom WITHOUT HIS APPROVAL, they must be the same

Without Yoko and her "domination" we probably would have lost John many years earlier. Despite all of her new age obssesions, Yoko instilled in John some decency and family values. Yes, some can say she dominated John. Wheter or not she manipulated the May Pang affair or not as some accuse, the bottom line was, if John could not put his chosen family first, then he needed to get out the

Evening Gown? Keith is going to play guitar on a MJ solo tune? Is that not one of the signs of he apocalypse? Or has Keith become so pickled he either does not know this is an MJ tune or does not rememeber his feelings about MJ's solo work, or at least waht he says about that body of work? Or is it really possible that he has softened and is ready to put his anger at some of what Mick has
