I'm very enthusiastic about Australian (and New Zealand) bands. I'd like to add one more I don't believe I saw mentioned: Died Pretty. 'Doughboy Hollow' still kicks my behind.

Quoteminorbyrd Hurray! I saw You Am I when they were putting out eps & I'm still hooked. The rest of the world's loss. If I said who I liked & who I've seen, it would be too long a list. But for a 41 year old I consider myself lucky being in oz. Exposed to whatever was happening overseas via countdown & sounds, plus had our own great bands/solo artists...... Cold

That they didn't bother with a sound check before their 1978 show at Soldier Field. The entire right side of the PA didn't kick in until the last two songs, and then it sounded @#$%& great. Finally.

You can't imagine the opportunity (even Stones-free) that lies in front of you. I wish I were you, mate! I would DIE for the opportunity to go to Sydney and Melbourne!

In the mid to late-ninties, I saw a female country and western singer turn in a rousing cover of "Gimme Shelter". It was an enormous surprise, and a clear departure from her recorded work. I can't recall the program, which might give this question a bit of context. Can anyone recall the singer and/or the program? (P.S. It's not the estimable Kathy Mattea)

Quoteseitan Why is KISS there - they dont deserve it, they are lame New York Dolls and Alice Cooper tribute copy cat band - when New York DOlls are not there, Kiss should stay at the parkin lot. Kiss sucks anyway. And why isnt N.W.A there..they are one of the most important Rap bands ever, when you have other rap acts there..N.W.A should be there too... Kiss sucks like a vacuum.

Liked 'em for a time, but they got precious pretty quickly. Especially after they relocated to Portland, OR. from Albuquerque N.M.

I've loved this band a long time. Sailin' Shoes is the one that moves. One of those albums that almost makes brilliance commonplace.

167. Re: MEGA
I am using Windows XP for now and the file is nowhere. Not in Downloads, not in My Documents and definitely not in My Music. I will look for the Mega extension Eddie Byword mentioned, but much of my frustration with MEGA comes from the fact that I was able to download disc one of a recently-posted 1989 show with no problem whatsoever, and disc two seemingly requires an entirely different proce

168. Re: MEGA
Thank you for your responses. My problems are encountered when I attempt to download. I click the red 'download' box. The counter begins. Fine. But when it indicates 100 percent of the file has been downloaded, it is nowhere to be found. I use Firefox, and occasionally there will be a pop up asking what I want to do with the file. More often than not, there nothing. Just the

169. MEGA
I very much appreciate those who share on this site. Especially the bootlegs, of which I seemingly cannot get enough. But would someone please tell me what the big advantage is in uploading these files to MEGA? I find it impossible, inconsistent and extremely irritating. I'll do without the boot rather than waste time screwing around with something so needlessly complicated. And f

I've got tons of boots from 1972 (hence my name), and would point you to Ft. Worth, Philadelphia and the New York City show indicated in the post above. The sound on all three is as great as the performance. If you're someone who can get past the technical limitations of the day and enjoy a hot show even if the sound is less than ideal, I would also recommend Chicago (6/19), Washing

I agree with many of you (especially drewmaster) that it's one of the very best things they've done post-break-up. It's also the last Rolling Stones song that inspired me to call someone and say "Hey! Did you hear the new Stones' single?"

Since I haven't seen the Stones live since 1981, I have to base this on bootlegs. That being the case, I'll go with the U.S. portion of the Steel Wheels tour or the Bigger Bang tour. Haven't heard a convincing boot from either. Sad, Sad, Sad.
