They don't need to do a new album now. They've long since done what they'll be remembered for. Up until 20 years ago, they would've been accused of "resting on their laurels" if they went out on tour just playing greatest hits with no new product. But not anymore. Like a recent UK news reviewer said: "If Bach were still alive today, you'd go out

From the account that's given on page 130 of the scan in Rockman's post, it seems Jimmy Miller deserved a writing credit on Jumping Jack Flash -- Mick took his suggestion to change the lyric for the chorus, and it gives the song a whole different meaning.

Charlie's drumming is fine. Rock solid. Forget the tempo. Just watch the arc. The dynamics of the fills. His exuberant and thorough attention ...to the closing of tonight's SFM for example.

Yeah, changing the color of a headband... That should make the music rock harder. See, it's not the instruments, but the clothes That make the band.

Quotekeithsman Quotestonehearted QuoteTornFrayedSue QuoteTonstone why not play a medley of early songs I dig this idea! A medley of warhorses, and so more time for other songs Stewed and Keefed/Little Red Rooster/Down in the Bottom/You Can't Catch Me/It's All Over Now/She Said Yeah/I'm Alright Now your talking Stonehearted, ive been suggesting a medley like that for years.

The trouble with some of these choices is... Almost Hear You Sigh is an outtake from Talk Is Cheap. You may as well nominate Don't Tear Me Up. Waiting On A Friend is from 1973. The nicest piece of Rolling Stones music post-1978 was never released. Because of Don Was. Make It Now:

There should be a fifth option. Where fans can add their own choice. How about a medley: Stewed and Keefed/Little Red Rooster/Down in the Bottom/You Can't Catch Me/It's All Over Now/She Said Yeah/I'm Alright... A half minute or so of each.

Not lost, but most likely erased. The folks at Chess would have been practical enough to re-use the tape once the Stones announced they would be going out to LA to re-cut the track. No sense in keeping around a demo that was never going to be of any use. Besides, they probably didn't have a fuzz box at Chess. In that YouTube clip posted above, Brian's harmonica playing is li

Just saw some of the videos. Brown Sugar, The Worst, Neighbors. They all play just fine. They're having fun. They obviously still enjoy performing. Even Charlie was smiling. I can see them still at it over the next 5 years, easily.

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotestonehearted Quotekeithsman SMU. Mick forgets the words and i don't have words to describe Ronnie's solo. The sound is too muddled in that vid to judge. Tempo seemed OK. So this tour Ronnie and Mick are the weak links, but Keith is OK? Haven't heard any complaints about Keith in this thread, which is great. Last tour he had me worried.

The song vote is too limited. A multiple choice of well-known tunes. They should let fans write in their own choices. I would opt for a medley: Stewed and Keefed/Little Red Rooster/Down in the Bottom/You Can't Catch Me/It's All Over Now/She Said Yeah/I'm Alright... Just a half minute of each.

This assessment merely echoes mainstream consensus. Music/rock historians will be parakeeting the same drivel 20, 30 years from now. For the mid-60s albums, these are the British versions -- overly long, devoid of the hits that would make them rank higher: Rolling Stones Now! is forever in my top three. Sticky and Exile, vastly overrated classic rock cliches. The Brian Jones era is wh

I can only comment on the wording provided by the interviewer: "In 1993, he landed the gig as bassist for the Rolling Stones, replacing longtime member Bill Wyman. Darryl has been in the group ever since" which should more accurately read as: "In 1993, he landed the gig as bassist was hired to play bass for the Rolling Stones, replacing after longtime member Bill Wyman lef

Article quote "The first son of a Rolling Stone was born three years before the band even formed." You know, that sentence just doesn't make sense. If you're not a Rolling Stone, yet, then how could this be the son of a Rolling Stone? Bill's younger daughters shouldn't be counted either, as they came along when he was no longer a Stone. Anyway, the Stones

QuoteBig Al fantastic live footage of The Who performing in 1966. It's seemingly from a television programme, but details in the video's discription are little skimpy on detail! If the date of March 31, 1966 is indeed correct, then it was in France (Issy-les-Moulineaux; venue: d'Ailleurs). Fantastic to hear that Everly Brothers cover done live! That year the band was a
