Jesus, I can't tell my dad about this. It would feel wrong to not be watching this on the dusty VHS he's had for years. He claims he's sat through this many many times, and at least 3 times in theaters. I don't think I've been able to get through 45 minutes.

Apparently he was 79. Not 72. I just heard about this and I literally couldn't believe that. Didn't know he was sick. An amazing producer.

Guess I'll really have to take a listen then! For years, my dad has always said its an excellent release, and with all the other live Lou albums its the just the one for no reason that I've ignored. I'll dig it out at some point. And American Poet was brought up earlier. Its not official, but yes its also really fantastic. As is the bootleg I have from the Sally Can't Dance

Just speaking about his live albums, he has maybe some of the best in the biz. Rock And Roll Animal is arguably one of the best. Easily in the top 10 of all time. Then there's Take No Prisoners, a hilarious yet also amazing document of raw Lou. Another classic live album. Then there's Live In Italy, that personally I think is a tad bland and generic, but granted I haven't given it

He was playing 2 shows in Decemeber last year, and cancelled both. Granted, he was playing a festival, and the other date was assumed to be a warm up, so when the festival cancelled he cancelled the other. So this isn't new for him recently. But I agree, he is 70 so I hope everything is alright. Maybe he's just vicious.

I can't believe he played Better Days. My number 1 Bruce song if you can believe it, and I never thought he'd play it with the band again. Incredible. Just amazing. I'm in shock.

It is an amazing song. I'm a huge Springsteen fan, so to me its hard to not hear it and kind of half listen because I've heard it so many times. Typically, its lost its luster and I really need to be in the mood to hear it. There are those great occasions though when I'm driving around late and night and this pops up on the radio and I blast it for 7 minutes. Or when I saw Bruce at

QuoteR I saw the third night of the current tour a couple weeks back. Bob's in his best form of the modern (2006 til now) touring era. He's shaking up the set-list albeit ever so slightly. Not that I disagree with you, but I don't think he's really that different than the last tour. He's been pretty consistent since 2011, which many say was better than 2006. Personally, I

Just finished watching. Honestly, I was shocked at how much I HATED the story. Not that it was boring (although I do think it pretty much was), I just kind of didn't see the whole point to it. Yeah, the whole movie focused on trying to prove him innocent, but the whole beginning seemed very much unnecessary, and the dialogue seemed to be written in a way that it sounded sophisticated, but wa

Quotestonehearted Yes, I remember the story when it happened--but, you see, he seems to have killed his mother. I understand. But from what I've read, its because he was bi-polar and acted totally erratically and it really wasn't as much in his control. From what I've read, he feels understandably very upset about the incident, but mainly because it was semi out of his control. It

Quotetatters QuoteRollingFreak Quotetatters I wonder if someday there will ever be a death-bed confession revealing the true extent of John and Paul's friendship. It would be interesting to see how Beatles fans deal with that. Whats there to reveal? Its very much known they were very close at the beginning of the Beatles, and grew to be back towards that as well through the 70s up until John

I don't know the whole extent of his manslaughter incident since it actually happened, but you'd think 30 years since he'd be over it and they could release him. Is there any specific reason they've said he's still locked up? I know his charges were seriously, but it genuinely seems almost like a mistake, or at least something that he could be released and monitored/contr

QuoteEirik QuoteBlueranger Have this on vinyl. Oceans apart from the cd. The vinyl has much more dynamic range. It sounds warmer. It is cut from digital files, but it is simply a different listening experience on vinyl than cd. I'm a vinyl freak, but I buy very few new releases or remasters on vinyl. They are normally the same masters as the cd, so I just don't see (hear) the point. A

Had to be awhile ago because Keith was still dying his hair (and not saying that as a bad thing, just saying that alone has to make it pre 2010 I would guess). I would agree that its probably around 2005 with A Bigger Bang. Either that or earlier. Anything later wouldn't really make sense. If they aren't promoting something, they don't just show up in suits somewhere and have their

My thoughts would be I've heard alot of songs from the album, and to me it all sounds the same. The beats are all the same which leads to the songs all sounding the same. I like his voice, but the songs just don't reach out to me other than being alittle catchy. I like rock music, so its not unusual, and I understand how some of his most catchy songs are huge hits. Even if I don't

QuoteGumbootCloggeroo I like Justin Timberlake. He's got skills. Good singer. Good dancer. His tunes are funky. He's always great on SNL. But since he doesn't play a guitar then most Stones fans on here will dismiss him as an untalented hack. Whatever. Agreed. Its not my type of music, but for today's music scene, he's insanely talented. Watch him on recent SNL, or an

He seems like he still puts on an excellent show. He's one of the people I love, but mostly want the hits, unlike the Stones, so his shows always look like they would please. The only reason I haven't seen him yet is because he charges alot. No, its not what the Stones charged last year, but its like $170 for good seats, and its hard for me to justify that price for Elton John. Anything

Quotekeefriffhard4life Quotewhitem8 Not sure what the hub bub is about his vocals in the mix. I downloaded from US iTunes at apple lossless, and yeah it is the typical compressed, but I hear his vocals just fine. Sounds fantastic. Sounding a lot like Lodger in places. Especially the first two songs. Especially The Next Day, seems like Repetition part II. Great! yeah i had no issues with his vo

Quotewalkingthedog I saw her as a backup singer for Roger Waters sometime in the nineties, her voice still in great shape. Don't know what she's doing these days. I believe she still is one of his backup singers. The stand out one of the backup singers, I believe.

Just finally heard the album all the way through on my headphones sitting comfortably on a bus. After a little less than a month, its finally all settling in which is cool to hear. Although this is definitely the first time I noticed the buried vocals thing. Heard it from alot of people, and was immediately noticeable to me this time when I started the title track. Oddly enough, I remember it was

No prob. Would you prefer this to the official bootleg release? For awhile I had heard how amazing this show was, and then when I heard the bootleg it was a bit underwhelming. Maybe because the official release has the guitars too low for my taste? But then I got the definitive version and to me it sounded a bit too unclear for me. I've stuck with the official because of that, but maybe I sh
