One of the very 1st bands I ever saw as a young lad - Spooky Tooth and The Flock at the Boston Tea Party. I was probably 11.

I saw the Carrier Dome show in '81 too (8th row - cherry picker went right over our heads!). Also saw the '81 Hartford Civic Center show (still one of the best I've seen), and my 1st time seing them was the Phili opener (Journey - ugh - and G. Thorogood as openers).

I can't believe they played all these Rolling Stones songs that the crowd loved! But seriously - I know what you mean about the warhorses and we all have our list of dream songs we'd like to hear instead from their insanely deep catalog, to warhorses we'd like to see dropped (Start Me Up for me is one I could do without, it's just so predictable - but again, the crowd goes

This from 'the examiner' - for what it's worth: The Rolling Stones will not be playing the 2013 Glastonbury Festival in England, say sources close to the band. British tabloid The Sun feuled the rumor by publishing a story saying that the Stones were close to signing a deal to perform at the festival. It's true that Stones were invited to perform at Glastonbury, but it

I keep listening to the 9 minute Just My Imagination from the Leeds '82 'official boot' and thinking what a great song that would be for the Boss. Say what you will - they guy can wail on the guitar. As to Black Keys, I keep thinking either Mona, Respectable, or anything off Exile. Lady G - let's hope they dig deep and come up with something unexpected. We shall see o

I agree about Mick's comment about 'hope you'll help us if it rains in England' or whatever the exact quote - that was a bit 'flippant', but then Mick has always been a bit of a wiseass. Part of his charm. Otherwise, I'm sort of with everyone else - the two songs sounded good - wish there was at least one more, but I can understand why with a show tonight.

I thought of a good one if it's 'The Top 10 Things You Didn't Know About the Rolling Stones': "Now instead of throwing TVs out hotel windows, we toss iPads." They toss IPADS, says Letterman. Can't you just picture it? I'm here all week...

Doom and Gloom. Me - I woke up to see this and went WOW! The Black Keys are excellent - great choice. Bruce - WTF, the guy is the Boss. Outstanding. And as to Ms. Gaga - another amazing choice IMO. Say what you will - she is one of the most popular, interesting acts out there. I can't wait to go to this show!

Agreed. I saw The Bad Boys from Boston in New Orleans Thurs. night and they were excellent. S. Tyler was in prime form throughout - vocally, energy wise - he was just superb. And yes - Joe 'f'in' Perry kicks some major ass - still. They showed some video of him walking around the French Quarter, and eating beignets at Cafe du Monde. (One assumes from earlier that day). I've

Thanks for that video- I don't think I've ever seen that. I'm a Major Bowie fan and I gotta say, 2 new songs, 5 (6 now actually) shows, and a bunch of great live CDs (for about $5). etc. - right around now I'd cut off a toe for that. (Not that anyone would want one of my toes, but you know what I mean). I too hold out (slim) hope that Bowie might show up on 12/15 - or 121212

I can't see Dolly joining them - BUT, I could see like an Emmylou Harris, or maybe a Lucinda Williams for a slow country number. I hope they don't go the Aerosmith route though and bring along Carrie Underpants.

Lady Gaga is a long shot - she's overseas right now, but could make it for Dec. 15. I thought of another long shot - Wanda Jackson? R&R pioneer who's on the road these days- but Mick tends to like singing with the young ones.

It's funny - I woke up this morning thinking the same thought. Who would we like to see? Expect to see? I think Aretha is a good choice. Given the two picked for London, it seems they are thinking a bit edgy, a bit out of the box. I agree with some of the names listed. I might also add Grace Potter (Nocturnals) as a possibility - she's young, on the rise, good pipes -and hot. I think T

I'll add another YES to Jeff Beck. I'm really surprised by all the negativity about Beck on these boards. The guy is - IMHO (obviously not shared with a lot of folks here) - the best living guitarist there is. Maybe he doesn't quite fit 'the Stones sound' but I'm very hopeful he'll be at the 12/15 show.

Hi Harlem - pretty much what Koen said. Go to the link above and download the app. (For me, it opened in iTunes.). Then on your smartphone, point it so you see the eyes on the Stones FB page ( I used my phone pointing at my laptop). If you get the focus right, the eyes will start blinking. Not sure how else to explain it. Right now it's no big shakes but will be interesting to see what h

So far this is what I see. I downloaded the app on iTunes. Then I use the app on my i phone to look at the image on the Facebook page , and if you get it focused right, there's a 'loading' message, and then the eyes start blinking, and then it says 'keep your eyes peeled.' It IS kinda cool - only the Stones come up with this stuff! Now, whether it's a new book/DVD
