Welcome on board, Marco: nice to find another "milanese" here! Re: You Don't Have to Mean it - I loved that one since the very first time I heard it. The lyrics are beautiful (and soo true). Could play it for hours! C

Edward, saw them 4 times, 3 in milano and 1 in Brescia (supporting Neil Young). All in all, one of the best live acts I've seen. Will be going to NY to see their reunion concert(s) ... C

Edward, I agree with BowieStone there: the BC's lions tour was great (and the album was not bad either ...). C

Agree 100%: Rambler on 4F is absolutely fantastic! I can remember another great version of MR in Zurich, on the closing date of the Liks tour. At least this is how I remember it. I'd love to have copy of a boot of that show. C

Fact is that I am 100% sure that if the Stones EVER decide to release some oldies, these will be done in a Led Zep fashion: i.e. heavily edited, remastered, cleaned etc. No doubt we would have a good product, but we would all start nagging because it is not the "real thing". C

Might be me who brings bad luck, but 1. UJ tour - drove all the way from Milano to London only to learn from the radio that the concert was posponed because keith allegedly hurt his finger replacing a string. Apparently that was the first time in the whole stones career that a concert was cancelled for physical inability of a stone! 2. Two (2 !) Milano concerts which were cancelled

If I am not wrong Sweet Black Angel and Sweet Virginia are fingerpicking, or at least a combination of pick and finger. Was HTW always played w/o pick? C

K's lick in the middle part. Pick or fingers (both, studio and live versions)? By the way, he seems to use this lick or variations of it in almost all of his best stuff. Half tone (CYHMK, before the jam, IYCR, Pain of Love etc?) full tone (Tumbling dice, HTW) single notes (love in vain, wild horses 75). Every time with a different feel an tempo. Great! C

This is why many other bands' tracks are a quarter- or half-step out of standard tuning. (Guns N' Roses "Appetite for Destruction", for example.) Well, on appetite all guitars are tuned half a step down on purpose. The tape was not sped up! Easier for Axl this way, I think. C

OK stupid post. Always thought Rip This Joint was the fastest song in the stones cathalog (at least according to KR). Well, yesterday I was playing along with Exile: turd on the run is much faster!!! Any others? C

Both BV and Gazza have strong arguments. It is true that 1) there is no real need to charge less than the market value and, 2) when the cost of the tix is close to the market value scalpers are penalised. On the other hand it is also true that 1) these prices are not affordable for a lot of fans, or for a younger audience, and that 2) there will always be scalpers around (false tix) It

"Eyeing up latest fads and trends and trying to incorporate it into his music in a bid to remain top of the heap" Incorporating new trends into their music is what the stones have always done: the same happened with the blues (which was a new trend in England) flower power, funk, reggea, disco, glam, punk etc etc This is absolutely normal. They are musicians and they love musi

I don't think I got the point of the thread. Anyway. 1) I don't have a truly bad boot coming from the 78 tour + HG OOB & others showcase the Stones hot as ever. 2) I never was really fond of the TY tour before I started having something more than Stll Life covering this era. Naples 82 is now one of my fav boots! 3) It is difficult to discuss set lists ex post. The 78 Som

I've read your post, but it doesn't say STONES SONGS ONLY Of course I'm kidding! Taylor's best solos all belong to the stones era, anyway! My selection (only studio recordings - It would be

Of course I can't deny that for many good reasons PF are a big name in rock history, gilmor is considered a guitar hero etc. etc. but their music bores me to death! Plus I always feel a negative vibe when I listen to their music. Never saw them live as a band, but I saw Waters and that was more than enough for me: everything was so calculated that it was like going to the movies!

Rock and a Hard place & Slipping Away (SW) You got me rocking & mean disposition (VL) the complete B2B (save Saint of Me and Too Tight which never grew on me) I think that DW was the last album of the "old" stones. This for many reasons. It was the last album to be released only on LP - the CD era recordings are for many reasons completely different: they include
