QuoteGasLightStreet Taylor doesn't play on Waiting On A Friend. He's only on Tops. If he did play on it his track wasn't used or it was erased, since there's one rhythm guitar and one acoustic, so that negates performance royalties. Unless Taylor is on acoustic. Which is probable but highly doubtful. It's even more doubtful that he doubled Keith's playing.

Their live album Familiar to Millions is actually what made me a huge fan. I don't get the comments regarding lack of energy. They rock!

QuoteMathijs QuoteGasLightStreet It's unfortunate that people in the UK gleefully bought in to their garbage. It's even more unfortunate that the US gave us bands like Kiss, Motley Crue, The New York Dolls, Cinderella...Of course we counted on the UK to give the only right answer: Spinal Tap. The First three albums of Oasis are glorious, Liam's solo outings are fantastic,

QuoteStoneage Short term charts aside; SMU is their last big hit in the longer perspective. Still played at sports arenas after 43 years. Still in every setlist on tour. The only post 81 song that may compete with it is YGMRN from 1994. It's number 16 on the all time setlist - SMU in number 6. Yes, it's also the last release constantly played on classic rock radio.

Quotetimmyj3 Do the Stones have an "official" archivist type person on board? From the outside looking in it appears that no one is driving this plane (see what I did there). Their unreleased live and studio cuts are worth many multi millions if done right. Over time the estates will benefit hugely from a proper archive management and releases. I don't think so. It seems they

What inputs do you have on your receiver? I use laptop (or phone) to receiver via an 1/8" aux cable. Receiver has an external input dedicated for this very purpose.

QuoteStone601 Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 I would love to hear another official release from the 1972 tour. There is a limited number of us who would pay for this, and Mick and Keith could probably care less if there was a release. At this point in their life, it is the new material that keeps them in the headlines. Releases from the past seem to fade quickly after release. I hate to say or

QuoteTaylor1 There is a solo on Star Star buried in the mix at the outro? There is haha, you can hear it come in at 3:32 through the rest of the song. It's really low, but I think it's the same guitar that does pull offs at 1:18 and 2:04. Either that or it's from the basic tracking bleeding into the drum mics.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteTaylor1 On Sticky Fingers, the credit reads Keith on acoustic guitar. Is that right or is it Taylor? I can't recall what particular magazine but years ago Keith talked about how he would use the acoustic to "shadow" the song, to fill in the space without overwhelming it, something to that effect - and then, bizarrely, he said "And it's cheap!&quo

Taylor left because he was a full-blown addict with a partner telling him he didn't need the Stones. That's really it. Mathijs Robin
