QuoteTate That was fascinating. I can imagine similar conversations exist about each one of those three by others, behind their backs. It's funny how the conversation ends. Dylan says, out of the blue, "I'm gonna split." Ha. Bob Dylan is a quirky guy. In fact, he's the king of all quirky guys. As the legend goes, that "rehearsal" proved irrelevant when Dylan hit

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotedcba QuoteSpud That would be fine...so long as it sounds good and finished. Vol.1-3 have proven the material offered here often was quite finished : I remember Strictly Memphis with horns which was brand new (previous versions lacked the brass addition). Imho the horns overdubs made the song absolutely exciting. I say it again ; when we get an expanded reissu

QuoteMathijs QuoteTheflyingDutchman A band with a decent punch. Taylor at his almost best playing through a great music man amp. One of the rare occasions that Dylan realised what playing with the Stones is all about, with that Tele. He was playing Marshal JCM 800 stacks on that tour, don't think he used the MM amps (which are great by the way). Mathijs You think he used a Boss

QuoteKoen QuoteTravelinMan QuoteNikkei QuoteTravelinMan I think so. Having the Buy/Sell/Trade forum is awesome. I also think it would be nice to have a few new sub-forums. For instance, all the Mick Taylor related topics get disorganized in the "Mick Taylor Talk" thread. There could probably be an Off Topic sub-forum as well. Off-Topic subforum? That's a recipe for disaster

QuoteTravelinMan What’s the “Sailor Song” Dylan is talking about? I am curious to know what Bob was trying to say here! I agree with him on "Broken Hands", it's a fantastic rocker.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteTravelinMan Quotedcba QuoteDandelionPowderman What did Bob mean by 'never two good gigs in a row'? What he witnessed during his 1984 Eurotour? (just guessing here...) I’ve listened to a lot of those shows. I’m not sure what he’s on about, Taylor sounded pretty consistent IMO He does indeed. He might mean his shape, perhaps? Maybe his attitude, yeah

"He had a couple of great songs on his record." - Bob Dylan on Mick Taylor Welp, I guess we can put to rest the claim Taylor couldn't write great songs! I think Richards had some great insight here, not mean at all.

QuoteTaylor1 Separately, Criss Cross, Waiting on a Friend, Travelin Man, were all apparently not considered for the album except Criss Cross Isn't "Travelin Man" (the song, not me) from the Sticky Fingers sessions? I thought Waiting on a Friend was considered when it was being recorded. I think they just had too many ballads after the Exile rock n roll romp.

Quotebillwebster Thanks for the beautiful picture. Given the length of this thread and the fact that it was created in 2015 because of the high number of Taylor threads in earlier years made it necessary to group all those discussions into one place, I get the feeling that Taylor would have sold quite a few units of solo albums from the mid-00s through the 2010s, if he had chosen to record new
