QuoteCome On It's Johnny... A Keith Richards copycat can't possibly be the first punk rocker. Then Keith has to be the first.

I would say Lou Reed. Or maybe Iggy Pop. Or maybe someone even earlier? I believe both Keith Richards and Pete Townshend were an inspiration.

QuoteVT22Ron Wood was at his peak in '75, maybe '76. Rather in 1971. Ronnie did great with the Stones but his best contributions as a guitarist was with the Faces.

Don't know anything about the 90's genre that is synonymous with "Stoner Rock" but I know a lot of the forerunning bands of the 70's. A lot of heavily overlooked and underrated bands! Captain Beyond Blue Cheer Leaf Hound Sir Lord Baltimore

What a mediocre band, I really hope they don't get to headline Outside Lands this year.

I'm just thinking, if Brian did not even show up to this particular session for whatever reason when Jean-Luc Godard is in the studio shooting a film of the sessions, he probably didn't show up to a lot of sessions at all. Is he playing any guitar on Beggars Banquet except from the slide on No Expectations? Brians contributions at this time probably didn't required a lot of time i

I get early Pink Floyd vibes from this. Doesn't Bill sound a bit like Syd Barrett?

Somewhat, Exile on Main St. was Richards' darling. No wonder Jagger never liked it. Waking up in Nellcote, cutting a track like Happy all by himself with Jimmy Miller, he could never do that now. I think the two new songs speaks for themselves, Doom & Gloom(Mick) WAY better than One More Shot(Keith). (with that said, I thought Keith was doing great on the 50 & Counting shows.)

Personnel: Ronnie Wood: lead vocals, guitars, percussion Keith Richards: guitars, backing vocals, percussion Mick Jagger: backing vocals, guitar, harmonica Ian McLagan: organ, piano, synthesizer Mick Taylor: bass, guitar, organ, synthesizer George Harris

QuoteDandelionPowderman The "too hot to touch-trick" is clearly connected to the music. Try play an open G for yourself, and see what happens to your hands when you hit that G-chord I guess Keith was really numb in the 70's. He played Jumpin Jack Flash, Tumbling Dice, Happy etc. hotter than today, in the same tuning, but still the guitar remained cool enough to hold with two hands

Maybe if Keith wasn't doing all the posing, it would be like in the old days with 90% camera focus on Jagger. Watching Some Girls Live in Texas is like watching Mick Jagger solo with a few glimpses of the band. Gimme Shelter is even worse, 99% Jagger.

Quotehowled Jeez, everyone gets older. Keith's hands off the guitar thing is an open G tuning thing (sometimes with a capo). In open G a guitarist can just hit the open strings and let it ring and then do a bit of posing if they want. Nothing really wrong with it. In the old videos Keith sometimes moved around a lot but he wasn't using open G tuning, so no hands off thing. W

I think you should buy and listen to the album A New World Record. It's kind of an best of-album in itself, all songs are excellent written pop songs. Then you could continue with Face The Music and Out of The Blue which is almost just as good.

QuoteMax'sKansasCity What does the fish on top do... and when does it do it? It flaps and make loud noises when you score. Cool feature but extremely annoying and not suited for apartment use, so I keep it unplugged. Here's me playing the 1979 Rolling Stones pin at the swedish pinball championship last year. Not a big fan of vintage games but that would be nice to own, have yet to tr
