QuoteMelBelli Time to give Mick Taylor some love. Here I look at some tasty lines MT played in Dorian mode as well as the natural minor scale. Check it out! So glad to see you back! With new content too! (Although I must admit that I miss the video from years ago where you broke down Taylor's work on Brussels Affair.) I look forward to giving everything in your channel a listen.

I like the Straight Outta Dartford shirt, but when I first saw it, I thought it was a reference to his brief incarceration in the 60s. But that shirt would be Straight Outta Wormwood, which doesn't have quite the same ring.

Ronnie, I don't know if you're aware of this, but Amazon has two different kindle versions for sale (well, probably the same version of the book, but two different prices): Which one should I buy? I want to make sure the correct amount of money goes to you. -R

A very funny show. Wish I could see the old episodes again. Originally was going to be titled "Let's rob Jeff Goldblum." Then, they managed to upgrade the celebrity cameo just a bit. The new title became "Let's rob Mick Jagger," which eventually became "Knights of Prosperity." Would have been renewed for another season if Ray Romano would have commit

Just want to chime in on this Eagles discussion. "A lot of them take Don Felder's side, demonize Henley and Frey for terminating him, and call the History of the Eagles documentary as a hatchet job to take vengeance on Felder." I didn't see The History of the Eagles as a hatchet job on Don Felder. I felt like I got to hear both parties in a divorce state their case. Feld

Ronnie, I'm looking forward to it. Have you considered self-publishing as an e-book? The up front costs are low and you don't have to worry about ordering too much from the printer and being stuck with excess inventory. Plus, the project that you've described would be perfect for an e-book as it would allow you to link the items in your appendix to the point at which they are re

I never have understood it. -R These are two regions/neighbourhoods inside or near London. Knightsbridge was a rather posh area. I gather Stepney wasn't. So, she used to be really someone moving with the in-crowd,

In Bobby's book, he says that he left the 1973 tour after driving his car (with his family inside) into a river somewhere in Europe. That incident woke him up and made him realize that he needed to change. He says he left the tour for rehab (at Keith's expense - Keith: "Make it count" ). The incident with more notoriety happened on the 1970 tour and cost him most of his tou

In my high school days, I watched a lot of GE Smith during those ten seconds he had before and after commercial breaks. Great musician. Great storyteller too. The Keith story is great.

Quotemarianna Doesn't his former manager run "his" website? Since the website runs the Facebook page, Mick didn't post that himself. And yet, this webpage has many of the same posts as his bootleg Facebook page (I call it that because, for a long time, it had to be listed as a fan page just to get to exist on Facebook). That page was, at the very least, run by his long ter

QuoteRollingFreak They are one of my favorite bands of all time. Yes I just bought tix for $250 a piece. Don't care. Arena show to see Slash and Axl on the same stage for the legitmate first time since 1993? I'm there. I'd be a little bit more embarrassed about it but seriously, people here and all over the world pay that frequently just to see the Stones. I affordably go see

Quotedcba QuoteReagan I see it as a little better than that. I credit them two great albums. One for Appetite, 1/2 for Lies (the acoustic stuff and 1/2 for Use Your Illusion (maybe three-quarters even). Quote Imho the difference between AFD and UYI is for the former the producer (Mike Clink) told them what to do in the studio. For the latter they told Mike Clink what to do... like includin

One for Appetite, 1/2 for Lies (the acoustic stuff - which launched the Unplugged revival in the early 1990s), and 1/2 for Use Your Illusion (maybe three-quarters even). On the positive side, they did some very cool stuff with the piano parts in t

QuoteRedhotcarpet I dont care for the song but it's ok if one compares to their 80s output. That's how I see it. The best thing I can say about it is that it's clear that Mick was putting forth some real effort on it.

My answer to the question is the same as about half the posters here, Johnnie Johnson. There are other greats, but no other pianist ever left me slack-jawed with wonder as I listened. It almost seems impossible that anyone could get a piano to do what he did on those Chuck Berry classics.

It's Exile for me. There were some very good individual songs after Exile (100 Years Ago, for example), but not enough on any single album to match what came before. SG comes close to the greatness mark for me as it has a number of good songs and no bad ones, but I don't know, I just don't love it as an album. I don't hate everything after Some Girls, I just don'

Quotekleermaker QuoteLieB Quotekleermaker Quotevudicus It's doubtful that any 1970 shows were professionally recorded. They may have board tapes in the archives but so far they've only released multi-track recordings. Some time ago I heard a snippet of Sympathy FTD from the 1970 tour in very good audio quality and it was finger licking great (even though it was in mono, if I recall
