Yes, I have bought a CD set that incoudes SFM and I will get it soon. Still, a 10th not-announced single exists: Con Le Mie Lacrime. The singles are hard to locate on eBay and expensive, when found. Thanks,Luca

I got: poison ivy tell me empty heart con le mie lacrime she's a rainbow we love you Fortune teller I wanna be you man Time is on my side The ABKCO site announces nine singles including SFM, but it's not available actually. Andrew Loog Oldham “While I had been away, Eric (Easton) had done more than handle the recording sessions. My co-manager and partner had done a move to handle the disposition of the B-side composition. Eric had explained to the band the obvious fact that ‘Stoned’, as an original song, needed a publisher to collect royalties due to it, and recommended that the band publish the song with ‘some goo

As the book points out, ALO and the RS discovered that Eric Easton earned extra undue money through Southern Music publisher. What sounds somehow strange is that business between the RS and Southern Music was not stopped and Southern Music kept on beign the sole selling agent of some of the early songs penned by J/R or Nanker-Phelge. I've dedicated a Whole chapter to publishers of songs of

it's not ridiculous, it's referred to Glyn Johns and his 'Sound Man'. A nice reading, full of lighting details on how the things went at the mixing desk. Unfortunately, Johns does not talk about the Muscle Shoal sessions and how BS was initially recorded. You'd compare the rare BS on initial copies of HR to the final one on SF, to have more info I guess. At a certain p

Yes Jlowe, it's all in the book.except for what they're keeping in the safe. They refused to lend me the key... For any other aspect, you'll have a circa 100-page intro re-creating the entire history of the DECCA period, with some very inedit point of views. Furthermore, I've cracked the meaning of the letters placed on labels and investigated the pressing plants in UK a

"The Rolling Stones British Discography of Singles on DECCA Records" is an almost ready, forthcoming 500-page book I've researched and compiled and it'll be available on Amazon and eBay in January 2017 (I hope). At the moment, it includes circa 400 records and 1.000 illustrations. All topics have already been faced and, no need to say, it's been cracked the meaning of

Generally speaking, the US covers are made of cartoon onto which the sheet is glued, with flip-backs covered by the sheet of the rear cover. For this reason, small differences may show-up, depending on the precision of the sticking process. That said, you've pointed out two very well known major differences. The positive vs negative logo is not linked to particular stories, the fan club ad

the Uncertain History of ‘Memo from Turner’ LONDON - September 1968 The very first take of ‘Memo from Turner’ was recorded in London, in September 1968 by the complete Rolling Stones line-up (minus Brian Jones?). Being he the new producer of the Rolling Stones, Jimmy Miller produced this session that was meant to record a rough version tape to be used as backing-track during the shooting of

Thank you everybody for following this thread and for the congratulations. I started researching the 'true' (as far as possible) history of 'Memo From Turner' to include it in huge discography of the DECCA British singles I hope I'll release for Christmas, this year. Please, do not forget that more versions of 'Memo From Turner' exist. The acetate I mention

Sean Eagan in his book talks about of stellar line-up, but does not say where each star didi what. It's true Cooder was part of the stellar line-up, it's not true he recorded his parts in London.

Hi everybody, as never satisfied with the circulating versions about how and when this song was recorded, this is what I've written, in sight of my forthcoming book on the British discography of the DECCA singles. Any comment? the story of ‘Memo from Turner’ The very first take of ‘Memo from Turner’ was recorded in London, in September 1968 by the complete Rolling Stones line-up.

Great show here in Milan. Willie Nelson on stage for 2 songs plus encore. Unfortunately, the band delivered a cover of 'Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blue'. The audience enjoyed the sing-a-long a lot but was a weak moment of the concert also because due to the cover we've misssed one of Neil's gems.

I'm reading Stoned2, a long time after the first time I read it. Why not to call Andrew Oldham to produce the last studio album of an incredible adventure? Are we sure Don Was can't be replaced? Is conformism the 6th Stone, nowadays? Andrew Oldham could bring the Stones back to where come from and would be great, in my opinion...

No decent shops in Rome and Venice. When in Florence, check Rock Botton: it's One of the best shops, in Italy. They do not sell 'Made in Italy' records and are expensive, but still Wellworth a visit. You could find Italian pressings in Milan, instead. (Metropolis and Dischi Volanti shops). Enjoy my homecountry and thanks for coming!

2PS-606/607 HOT ROCKS 1964 - 1971 In his “AN ILLUSTRATED DISCOGRAPHY” Roy Carr spread rumours of early copies of this 2LP set including ‘Brown Sugar’ alternate takes form the Muscle Shoals Studio days instead of the usual well known ones. Let’s read Roy Carr: “’Brown Sugar’ exits in different versions and takes. There are those who argue that the cut included on earlier pressings of the ‘H

Sorry if my post will be a little bit off-topic, but I don't know another good place to ask for help, since when stonesondecca is life-less. Starting with the 1986 US re-issues of the LONDON Records catalogue, 'December's Children' is dated P1966. It's not an annoticed mistake: all its songs (As Tears Go By, I'm free et al.) are dated P1966 on compilation album su

Very interesting Got LIVE If You Want it! I have a lot of LONDONs with Matrix numbers coinciding with the catalogue number. Usually, they're Canadian, not from US. Very interesting, indeed. Back to the Get YOUR Ya-Ya's Out!, it was made between 1981 and 1985, pressed by Philips/PCR at Compton (26). Thin vinyl, etc. etc. Keep on searching the Holy Grail, Luca

Yes, Matrix Numbers. I've requested the off-trail data and the seller has gioventù me ST- matrix data. First of all, the mono promo copy has different matrix number (the same you can read onto labels), but also consider that ST- matrixes always play stereo. I will not try to outbid you, be sure of this promise of mine. Bye, Luca

Ebay is a place where you have to pay a lot of attention when buying unusual items. At the moment, I'm following a mono promo copy of the US 'Sticky Fingers'. The labels sound strange to me, I ask for off-trail data and the seller sends the data of the stereo edition. All in all, we have a stereo copy with fake photocopied mono labels...
