Quotejahisnotdead Quotekeefgotsoul Holy crap. After all this time, are we finally getting somewhere? This guy is a major producer. If this tweet is real, I seriously doubt he would be talking out of school about a project this big. I just saw it on the Steve Hoffman forum.

And do you consider it a good way to use this forum? I mainly use an iPhone and I consider the format as archaic and barely useable by current standards. This forum hasn’t been updated in literally 20 years. Is there anyway to update this by donations?

Excellent stuff. The guy who filmed that gave me an autographed Mick Taylor cd many years ago.

I saw the Stones in the Kingdome 1997 and the Tacoma Dome 2002. Both fun shows but not ideal places to see a band.

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 The 3 vocals in RO are one of my favorite recorded performances in all Stones. They are the reason this song has never worked live IMO. It's not one single vocal line, which really delivers the song. It's the composite. I always believed that this was one of the very few cuts, where they should have changed key, for the live shows. So that Jagger could get

There’s more now. Taylor guitar part from Rocks Off and a Keith guitar part from Happy. Plus pictures of archival tapes from the recent documentary I guess. It’s interesting to hear this stuff!

I wonder if Keith ever has someone drive him past Nellcote when in France. For old times sake. I have a picture of Ronnie in a car in front of the Nellcote gates from years ago. I probably got it from here on iorr.

I wonder if the positive response to El Mocambo will have any influence on the setlists for upcoming shows. Crackin up, Crazy Mama, dance little sister or Hand of fate would be nice.

Will El Mocambo album have any influence on the setlist? It’s getting great reviews and I’m sure Mick pays attention to that. Cmon “Crackin Up”

A heads up that you're going to read a fair amount about Charlie Watts over the course of this review of what is the most monumental Canadian Rolling Stones moment in the band's history. The late Watts was, as Mick Jagger jokes at one point during this live record, "a jazz drummer who's only doing it for the money; he's really a jazz drummer." Despite the att

“The new live release captures the last time the Stones were truly dangerous. By 1977, the Rolling Stones were in trouble. Their previous albums, It’s Only Rock’n Roll and Black and Blue, did not match the heights of their halcyon run of legendary albums from 1968 to 1973. The loss of Mick Taylor was a tremendous blow to them artistically, and Keith Richards’ drug habit was spiraling out o

Quotehockenheim95 Quotekeefgotsoul I believe the Fully Finished outtakes surfaced a year ago? Thinking of those and now this killer El Mocambo release… what a time to be a Stones fan!! With the loss of charlie in between I wouldn't praise these times that high... I understand what you mean but I was specifically referring to newly released music obviously.

Listening now and it is absolutely great! The playing, setlist and whole feel of this show is outstanding. The entire band is firing on all cylinders and sound to be having a blast along with the audience. This will be remembered as a landmark release in their catalog. QuoteDoxa The studio version is like a blueprint, and perfect by its own means. BRUSSELS '73 is like a final outcome and fullfilment of the potentiality of the song, like 'this is as far as you can go', perfect by its own means as well. If you add YA-YA'S and Roundhouse '71 there, you will see the greatest development of a rock song ever done. - Doxa Excellent explan

Years ago, I would choose the live versions every time. However, I’ve been listening to the studio version lately and i have gained a new respect for it. It’s subtle and dark with layers of background vocals (don’t do that) and slide guitar I believe. Subtle background stuff. Live is completely vicious and aggressive. Almost as if they’re different songs entirely. Do you have a preference?

Possible delay because the vinyl pressing plants are in Canada. The masters were flown into Canada and the Mounties detected narcotics on the master tapes. After a brief deliberation, the judge sentenced the master tapes to be mixed at a benefit concert for the blind. History repeats itself I guess
