"Exile'" is such a musical excursion, in and of itself, that one is practically exhausted by the end. Then come the marvelous. anthemic swagger and unique riffage of "Soul Survivor" to reinvigorate the listener and leave them wanting more. It is masterful and has always been one of my favorite stones songs.

I saw the tour in Houston. I waited 40 years for CSNY 1974. I played it repeatedly when it came out a couple months ago. I played it again last week and turned it off halfway through the first disc. The singing is all coked up croaking. The playing lacks subtlety. The recordings are sonically inconsistent. It isn't an enjoyable listen. I feel the same way about the Allman Bro

I saw them three times with Lowell. The first was in the front row of an old old theater with about fifty other people in 1975. The second was them blowing Dave Mason off stage when they opened for him in 1976. The best was '78 when they'd evolved into a well-oiled machine promoting "Waiting For Columbus." The latter day incarnation is still a tremendous band but they seem

At least three times per tour since 1989 plus once each in 81. '78 and '75. All told, 32 times.

I desperately wanted to take my family to the second Chicago show in 2013 but I couldn't afford more than the $250 seats. When first they went on sale I could only get one. A few days later I was able to get a second, several sections away from the first. Several weeks later I was able to get two more that weren't anywhere near the others. So, here I was with four tickets in three diffe

Keith has never been shy about doing interviews and as an ardent fan I read them all. "LIFE" just seemed like a rehash.

" Where are all the photos from the 78 US Tour? " Mostly in people's drawers having been rendered on Kodak Instamatics. The Stones were not at their photogenic best and the tour was sort of thrown together, presumably without the usual propagandists in tow.

No one is going to tell "little bastard" what to do. If he wants to make boring records and foment his own oblivion then he will. Fine by me.

Rolling Stone magazine hasn't been relevant to music since I graduated highschool. I'm 57 now. Somebody gave me a subscription to the damned thing for Christmas this year. No one I know will admit having done so.

I met Devon a couple times about ten years ago. He'd given it his all to what was essentially a house concert audience but he could not have been nicer. I was shocked at how much he looked like Uncle Duane. I WILL say that he bristled a bit when people would mention Gregg or say, "Your daddy must be really proud of you." I'll leave it at that.

LOL. Iggy Pop was booed and pelted with everything but the kitchen sink in Pontiac in '81. Pontiac is essentially Detroit i.e. Iggy's hometown. Of course booing Iggy and throwing stuff at him is simply how one experienced Iggy in Detroit going back to '69.

Quotetreaclefingers Quoterbk The plural of vinyl IS vinyl. how in the hell do you know whether it's a double disc or single?! It matters not. It can be two (or more) vinyl LPs or long players. Or, it can be two or more 12" vinyl records but the plural of vinyl IS vinyl.

The first four and "Draw The Line" as a point of reference as to when cocaine nearly destroyed the band. "DTL" isn't THAT bad and should be considered a part of their required, original discography.

I'm not offended by Stones lyrics or indeed many things. Hence, I'm much happier than many people. I do find the terminally offended tiresome, however.

Forget Jack White. This guy makes WAY more sense for the Stones as he has one foot in the present as well as the past (where White would likely want to dwell):

Quotepowerage78 I remember DP saying that Keith had some difficulties to play the main riff during the rehearsals. My recording of Glastonbury last year Keith definitly had difficulty with CYHMK but when I saw them do it in Chicago it just screamed. He was spot-on.

Mick Taylor gets far too much adoration relative to the adoration received by other, founding, Stones guitarists I would think.

The best ever solo album by any Beatle. Sadly, he shot his wad on All Things Must Pass and never came close to it again.
