"The Playful Heart" album from 2010 was exceptional. The two since are only good as sleeping aids.

All the music press is reporting roughly the same info about the "unconfirmed" Stones tour so it would appear they've been green lighted and an announcement is imminent. And for all of you rumor mongers guessing where they'll play... don't forget the Motor City.

These are older recordings remixed for this release. They were available from MuleTracks years ago and are quite excellent.

Quotegoinhome Indy Speedway over the 4th almost seems like a direct response to the fiasco in Chicago with the (way oversold / over scalped) Grateful Dead Fare The Well thing at Soldier Field over the same weekend... Works for me. I just goy my rejection letter from the 'Dead yesterday and the returned money orders now await the Stones announcement.

Quote2120Joe IN- Klipsch, 24,000 outdoor concert amphitheater near Indianapolis. Great acoustics-owned by concert promotor LiveNation. Booked nearly all months except June. Formerly called Deer Park. Just guessing. Hard to believe there would be no Chicago concert. LiveNation doesn't have this tour. Apparently it's AEG who are also doing the Who in the states.

The less edited and unvarnished versions of most of the STEEL WHEELS songs that got out on bootleg are, as usual, superior to the finished album.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine, who has been a long time employee of the promoter we all love to hate, told me yesterday, "They are indeed doing (central Great Lakes area, major city) stadium... Not ours" (as in not our show). Where I live the promoter we all love to hate typically puts shows in the NFL football stadium. The competing promoter we all love to hate employs

They've shared touring techniques (and staff) in the past so maybe we can look at the AC/DC tour for clues: * Stadiums only, only 18-19 cities * No tix more than $125 with most of the house in the $90 range. * No gold circle or pit bulls-t separating the haves and have nots. * The "lucky drop" is still a thing if the AC/DC tix I got yesterday are indicative. We can h

I'm pretty sure I've read the Stones have semi-annual band/business meetings. Presumably said meetings would alternate in location between London (near Ron and Charlie) and NYC (near Mick and Keith). Neither Stone looks like they were packed for much more than an over night so it's a safe guess a quick meet-up was all this was. By the same token they could be talking new show dates

The note on Dead50.net reads, "Wow! We’re excited (and humbled) to discover that your enthusiasm for Fare Thee Well matches our own! We have received an overwhelming number of mail order ticket requests. In an effort to honor the history and spirit of the Grateful Dead, we are going to try to fill as many of these orders as possible. This means there will be no other pre-sales. In order to g

They will have a complete blast, fans will love it, and with Trey they'll bring in the younger generation Fishheads/Deadheads, and everybody will just have fun. That is what it is all about. Indeed. I always marvel at people who take rock and roll so damned seriously. I sent in my ticket o

Quoterocker1 How did they shoehorn the enormous Steel Wheels stage into the Alpine Valley setup? Or did they even try? Any photos showing the stage configuration from these shows? They were only able to plug in parts of it. It looked like a bit of a jumble but it brought Mick and Keith out to close to us as they have part of the walkways. We didn't understand we were seeing the stage

I got the LA '75 vinyl/DVD packages the other night. What a joy! '75 was my first tour and I hadn't seen it (in full) since I saw it. The film is fascinating, Jagger-centric with barely a hint of Keith, and the odd camera angles kept it interesting. I'd like to know who the mortician was doing Jagger's make up on that tour. Yea gads!

The two nights the Stones played the Silverdome in '81 still hold some record for crowds in an indoor venue. Over 90,000 each. I saw the first night and it was mayhem in typical Detroit fashion. They also did two nights in '89 though by then crowd control was very strict. Mick poured a bucket of water on a guy who threw a beer at him. They did a single night in '94 two months
