QuoteMcQwerty What do you think about Stones' sound with Darryl Jones on bass (since 1993)? Is it better or worse than sound with Bill Wyman? I think it's sometimes different, but still very nice It's evident on Bill's HTW guest spot at the O2. The best way I can describe it is it sounded 'rounder' - it rolled! SFM at Twickenham on Four Flicks, in my view, i

Quoteexhpart Quoteadotulipson QuoteLastStopThisTown Why do Twickenham when there's Wembley Stadium? Well Wembley is such a horrible place to get in and out of,Twickenham also close to Richmond and all their history. And the new Wembley is unfamiliar whereas they've played Twickenham 4 times Personally I prefer Wembley as a stadium venue. Having said that I hope there are no more s

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteLastStopThisTown QuoteJohnnyBGoode So when the Stones got back together for Steel Wheels in 90 they decided to do this version of HTW, right? IT'S NOT THAT FAR OFF!!!! So they didn't do it that way in 89, only in 90 then? Was just testing whether the Pedantic Police were still checking this board.

What I loved about Celebration Day was that you could still, more or less, hear the same band that made those great records back in the day. When I see/hear the Stones today I never get that feeling - the music has evolved over time, JJF today is a different beast, still love it though. Both bands at the peak of their powers i'd say the Stones blow most bands away, including Led Zep.

2007 Led Zep vs 2007 Stones - Led Zep level of performance, musically speaking, was far better than the Stones. IMO, of course.

Charlie has that thing technique cannot mask, that is 'feel'. There are many, technically gifted, drummers out there whose feel for a song or groove is just lousy, or too mechanic like a metronome. Everyone has bad days - how about starting a positive thread about the 100s of great Charlie moments instead.

The O2 gig, in the time I've been following them (94) is the best I've witnessed. I left the venue buzzing.... for days! I'm in a place where i've thought, "can that bettered?", "shall I leave it at that for Stones shows"... IMO, they should leave it at that, it would be all too easy to revert to phoning it in if they start the bandwagon.

Anyone who attended the event should be given a download of the event FREE. How great it would be to get home from a gig, check your email and have a Pro recording of the event ready to download - how hard can that be...

QuoteGravityBoy QuoteHanns Rainsch YCAWGWYW (wow!) That is just fantastic. I've never been a big fan of that song live (too draggy).. but that does it justice. Mick's vocal is spot on. Beautiful. I've never liked the song. But in all honestly, last night the performance of that song last night made the hairs on my neck stand.

First let me say, Ronnie was great, which on the last tour meant he would be carrying the guitars, but Ronnie didn't need to carry the guitars as Keith was putting in a shift also. Keith was focused. Sharp, not lazy. The telling part for me was in his slot, Happy and BTMMR, no guitar hanging around his waist not being played, he was actually playing AND singing. He was playing the songs,

Quotedrbryant From the Clash Music review: "The return of ex-guitarist Mick Taylor - whose exit from the band in 1974 paved the way for Wood - proved the highlight of the whole gig. Always their best guitarist, and the player who contributed to the Stones' peak era of 1969 to 1972, his effortless weaving of 'Midnight Rambler' alongside Ronnie and Keith injected the song wit

Keith was really focused on his playing. Best I've heard him since before Bigger Bang. Solo on SFTD was pretty sharp. There was no Blondie from what I could see... wonder whether that in itself is a sign of an improvement in Keith's playing?

Great gig, really didn't expect that opener! Keith played well, more rhythm less Chuck Berry-ing over every song, less posing and it really made a difference. Charlie solid. Ronnie played great. Mick did a lot less running around than I've seen in the past, which is to be expected, he doesn't need to do much anyway, his vox were better for it as well. Bill was, well, Bill! Mick Tay
