Wow, well, that is super cool - thank you for sharing! At first it looked like the woman with the band here is eying Brian, not Mick (as the author suggests)... ...but this shot does show her apparently somewhat in thrall of Mick, who seems to be holding court: As to this photo---the next second or 2, the guy with the security guy's leg embedded in his groin would be probably doubl

QuoteEleanor Rigby QuotePecman Great stuff...much clearer than @#$%& Blues. I just don't get Robert Frank's "art". His editing is pretty damn confusing and hard to follow. @#$%& Blues is just a mishmash. I know he did that on purpose but that movie could have been so much better. Pecman Why they didnt let a Maysles-like approach happen for the 1972 tour

This is super cool. I don't know much about these shows and would like to. Is it written about, in detail, anywhere? Or if people here want to -- can you say more about the context/backstory? how the shows were received? anyone of note who attended? (other than Captain C here), what the Stones thought of theses show? in retrospect, what do we fans tend to think about these shows, performance

Great sleuthing, Voodookitten76 and 2000 LYFH! I reached out to the Living Theatre on Facebook--attached the photo of Mystery Man. Also did some digging around about the Living theatre and it appears that there were a great many people who drifted in and out of that circle, so...it may still be a bit of a crap shoot, but still the new photo is a wonderful lead! -swiss

Cool! I'd never heard that song. I'm not a trained music person (tho I play the violin) but I think that's some key or alternate scale. Another song that uses a similar type of scale or minor key, and includes similar descending sequences, is the Kinks' Sunny Afternoon. -swiss

Quotetriceratops Quotehbwriter Piece I just wrote on Ronnie Schneider and his cool new book... Looks like a great book. But it better have lots of new photographs/not seen before photographs to be worth the $69 I see on Amazon. The book contains lots of content we've not read before, nor seen before. Some are photos; many are archival documents and other artifacts. Half the book is

Not to deride it, but it's not new. This--and another version--pops up now and again. I scraped it a few years ago when it appeared, but glad it's back.

I'll go very specific: The song "Fever." Any version of it, any era, any vocalist. If "Fever" were a person on a bicycle I'd stick a broomhandle in its spokes as it zoomed by - I don't get how others love it, snap their fingers, grin, and sway to it. Thankfully, not a daily occurrence. - swiss

QuoteSilver Dagger Thanks for the tip swiss. Will tune in later. Oh, do! It's super cool. I'd almost forgotten about it in all the post-election excitement here in America. I'd rather spin the globe and listen to these cool radio stations than worry about global politics. hope you likes

QuoteHankM I didn't want to start another OT thread, this may have limited interest here but inuho is worth passing along. I almost posted after the first show, but skipped it..... but after seeing episode 2... people who liked this are probably the ones who may like this Thanks for sharing this, HankM! Quotewonderboy I have conflicting opinions about this episode. On the one hand, the Stones (and Brian and Keith, in particular) were set up and harassed by the police. On the other hand, they were flagrantly breaking the laws at the time. Pish tosh. We're not old men. We're not worried about petty morals. -swiss

Quotepeoplewitheyes Wow, now I'm really digging Future Games. Particularly Woman of Thousand Years and the beautiful title track. Sounds like Carl Wilson singing Neil Young. I love finding 'new' music! Is there any video if them doing these track? QuoteRollingFreak It not Bare Trees, but you know what's a great song? Jewel Eyed Judy. What a track. That early band was so totally different than what they became. Maybe not better or worse, but just totally different. Its worth people taking the time to check out cause there's some great stuff in there. I mean Oh Well and Green Manalishi themselves are incredible songs. RollingFrea

Quotetatters "get off, 'ya wimp!" A rather appropriate comment, under the circumstances. Needing to have Stevie Nicks come running to your defense is the very definition of wimpiness. Any other self-respecting rock star, even the most sensitive of singer-songwriters, even someone as wimpy as James Taylor, would have just told the hecklers to @#$%& off. -- both at th

QuoteAquamarine This isn't really worthy of its own thread, but damned if I could find the Keith pics thread. Feel free to merge, anyway. I just came across this pic which my American pen pal sent me in 1966. She also sent some pics of the Asbury Park July 3 show from that year, but they're not really clear enough to pass on. Wow -- super cool! You must have been thrilled

Quotewonderboy Frank could have done a better job, imo. The footage is primitively shot (yes, on purpose, but it's distracting) and I'm not sure that Frank knew what he was trying to say or how he wanted to say it. He focused on the sheer weirdness of the scene (to him, as the outsider) and I am not quite sure he was able to make an artistic comment on what was happening. I agree wi

Quotetriceratops Sands of Time is my favorite from that era. "Sometimes" is my favorite, and "Sands of Time" a close second, but all of Future Games, really. Not a dud in the bunch (well, "Lay It All Down" is a bit silly, but I still like it). Here's the sole non-speeded-up upload on YouTube of the entire Future Games album. - swiss
